All of our staff are either autistic, ADHD or some flavour of neurodiverse!
We are also very new to the cafe trade! The first few months were for sure a steep learning curve- orders could take a while, sometimes they were wrong and there would be a misunderstanding.
Now? It's like a completely different place!
Autism affects social communication, sensory processing and much more- which means sometimes we can come across a little 'odd'!
Because our staff are all autistic sometimes this can mean it takes a little longer for us to understand! Autism affects auditory processing, and this means it takes us a little longer to get things done- but it will always be done well and with the utmost care.
It can be very difficult to find a job when you are on the spectrum, it turns a lot of employers away- but we want to provide young people and those who struggle with the experience and training that they deserve and need!
