Regular angler, Jonathan Outram had an amazing evening session at Lake Helen last week. He caught over 60lb in four hours, including three carp to 18lb and loads of quality roach, rudd and bream - all on match rod and waggler. Every time he comes he talks about catching a big eel and he's finally done it. He doesn't use scales, but guessed this one around 6lb.

Local angler Kevin Spriggs has been bagging up at Lake Helen on his secret hook bait. It works on waggler, pole or feeder. Every time he comes he catches mixed bags between 40lb and 60lb. Highlights from last week include a 10lb common, 5lb bream and 3lb tench. But best of all a two pound roach, weighed and witnessed by other anglers. 2lb for the roach and 12oz for the wet net.
