There's been a bakery and shop on Newton's Corner since the 1850s and the Dales family are proud to have owned it since 1980. With our third generation now working in the shop we still try to provide what our local community wants - simple food, made daily on the premises, and efficient service with a smile!

Today is a pretty big deal for the team as one of our lovely ladies hits her 30 years of working here 🥳🥳👏🏻👏🏻
Sue Louth has now been working our 6-10am shift, 3 or 4 days a week since 1996. In that time, I couldn't even begin to guess how many chicken & bacon rolls she has made, sausage rolls she has warmed and customers she has put in their place (maybe not exactly the right words but you get the gist haha!).
I know that she has been a key part of a lot of your mornings as you are heading to work and so we just want to take this chance to publicly thank her for her loyalty, hard work and commitment over all of these years.

Obviously, we couldn't let this pass without sharing some (behind the scenes) photos of Sue and the team over the last few years.

One of our younger employees today got the A levels she needed to go to uni, to train to be a paramedic 👏. It is always lovely to see our 'Saturday kids' go off to bigger things and it got me thinking about first jobs. My first proper job was working on the front tills at Woolworths and filling the pic &mix - a job I loved! I still remember that my hourly rate was £1.61 an hour.

I'd love to know where your first jobs were? Do you still do the same job now as when you first started out? Or was it a job you vowed never to do again!

We may have to upgrade to a larger one at some point as you don't realise how big this building is haha but it is lovely to know the name won't be forgotten now and hopefully the Newton family, who built the buildings on this corner, would approve.

Its been a very busy week of catering. Thank you to all of you who trust us with providing the food for your important gatherings - we take that trust very seriously.
We already have a lot of bookings for this month but the available dates on our website are up to date (you will find them as an option in any product you try to order). In July, we are fully booked for 14th, 18th, 25th and 29th with all other dates currently have some availability.

One of the nicest parts of our job is making donations to local charities. Today's donations are purely from our collecting jars on the counters which you so generously give your 'pennies' to. A grand total of £915 was in them when we sorted and counted them last week.
We have donated £400 to the Butterfly Hospice, £400 to St Barnabas Hospice (both suggested by our team) and £115 to Breakthrough T1D (who support research into Type One Diabetes which one of our team lives with).
