Peaks and Swirls turns 13 today! 🎂

13 years ago I took the plunge and started this business. I've always been creative, and it began with cakes for family and friends, something I could do while looking after my young children at home. I never imagined I'd still be doing this 13 years on.

It's a hard industry; cakes are a luxury, not an essential, and I've watched plenty of cake makers come and go over the years. But I'm so grateful I've been able to make a living doing something I love, and that I get to be part of people's celebrations.

Thank you to everyone who's trusted me with their special days. Here's to many more years of Peaks and Swirls!

A bespoke 21st birthday cake and matching cupcakes created for Charlotte, designed around the things she loves.

The celebration cake featured a handmade figure of Charlotte in her cheerleading outfit, along with her graduation cap, her dog, favourite travel destinations including Peru, the Philippines, Argentina, Bolivia and Bali, plus personalised details that reflected her personality and interests.

To complete the order, I also made a set of matching cupcakes decorated with edible toppers featuring Charlotte's name, the number 21, cheerleading silhouettes and pink gin & tonic designs, tying everything together perfectly…
