💡🎂 Why Do Custom Cakes Cost What They Do? 🍫🧁

I often get asked about the price of bespoke cakes, so I thought I’d share a little behind-the-scenes insight.

Take a Chocolate Overload Cake I’m working on right now…
🍫 The chocolate I use to make ganache used to cost 39p per 100g. Now it’s £1.19 per 100g.
👉 Just the chocolate for this one cake has cost around £32 – and that’s before sugar, flour, eggs etc!

Then there’s:
📦 The board & box
⏳ The many hours it takes to bake, fill, decorate & finish (I pay myself a fair wage for my time)
⚡ Overheads like electricity, insurance & training (so I can keep improving!)
🔄 And finally, a little profit – to reinvest in the business or replace tools and equipment when needed
