This week is mental health awareness week,

It's sad that we need to name a week to encourage people to talk about how they are feeling mentally and emotionally.

I've seen so many posts, and as someone who champions the importance of talking to someone, anyone and being really honest, I've taken the opportunity to reflect on where I was 2 years ago.

I was fragile, bruised, adrift and having faced another set back when I thought I was making progress, I was scared. The unknown was terrifying.

But now, 2 years on, I've moved on from that place, and I'm more settled and happy. I still suffer from chronic anxiety, imposter syndrome, lack of confidence and self doubt, but that's all part of what makes me who I am.

I'm not looking for sympathy, likes or comments, I just want to be real. To many of you, I am this confident, outgoing individual, but we all have the capability of wearing a mask, and only showing what we want others to see, whether thats in real life or on social media.

But I have my people, and I'm grateful, those that I can be myself with and show my vulnerabilities to.

For all the other times? I'll keep being the version of me that you know and recognise, and I'm okay with that, even though it's exhausting at times.

But please, if you're struggling, overwhelmed or lost, reach out to someone, talk to them, and be really honest, it really does help lighten the load, and you'll be surprised by how many others may be in a similar situation.

My kettle is on, I may have cake, and I will ALWAYS listen, without judgement.

We miss you everyday, but days like this are harder.

The whisky will make an appearance tonight, so we can raise a glass to you.
