Kindness.

I always look for the good in people. I always have.

Sometimes, if I’m honest, to my own detriment. Because not everyone chooses kindness.

I know closing the cafe will feel devastating to some people. But today, those four walls were absolutely filled with people who, like me, are on the kind side of life.

The ones who look for the joy.

The ones who look for the positive.

The ones who lift people up, rather than pull them down.

This is a new chapter for me. And maybe, in some small way, what we’ve built in those four walls has shown that kindness matters.

That even when things aren’t easy, you can still choose to be kind.

And I think Blyth needs more of that, not less.

We also discovered today where the Chinese whispers officially started.

So, all things considered…

Today was a good day. 💗

It’s starting to feel real now.

I don’t know if it’s tiredness, or if the emotions are finally starting to hit me.

Two more opening days.

That’s it.

And then, for the first time in a very long time, I feel like I can breathe again.

The outpouring of love this week has completely knocked me sideways.

From other small businesses in Blyth, businesses I’ve met along the way, and even businesses who only know me through a screen.

People sad to see me go and genuinely wanting us to finish this chapter on a high.

It’s been unreal.

I knew I’d be emotional saying goodbye to the Pink Cafe.

I don’t think I realised quite how much love would come back at me and my amazing staff while I did it.

Two more days.

Friday 10am until sellout.

Saturday 9.30am until sellout. (Takeaway only after 11 - all tables are reserved)

So that’s exactly what I’m doing.

FINAL WEEK.

Friday: 10am till sellout
Saturday: 9.30am till sellout

Saturday sit-in is only until 11am.
Every table is reserved from 11am, so after that it’s TAKEAWAY ONLY.

I’ve always believed in the power of community.

But this little pink cafe has taught me so much about the power of connection too.

Today my heart hurt, but my cup was filled.

The hugs. The conversations. The genuine friendships that have come from people who once just walked through my door as customers.

I swear down, nobody has better customers turned friends than me.

Next week is going to hurt. I know it is.

I also know I’ve made the right decision for my family and myself. It doesn’t mean I can’t be devastated about what I’m walking away from, and what my community, my people, are losing too.

I am walking away from the high street. Despite some of the rumours circulating, that hasn’t changed….. eeee the rumour mill😆😆😆😆🫢

I need to put my boy first and foremost.

But by God, I’ve got some amazing people who walk through that pink door.

Two more chances.

Then that’s it. 💗

Just three more chances to get your L of a Bake fix before I close the doors on the high street.

🩷 Saturday 22nd
9:30am till sellout

10am till sellout

🩷 Saturday 29th – THE FINAL DAY
9:30am till sellout

And just a reminder for our final Saturday:

After 11am it’s TAKEAWAY ONLY. All of our tables are reserved from then, so you’ll still be able to come in, raid the counter and take your goodies home… you just can’t sit your bum down.

So if you want breakfast at L of a Bake for the last time, you’re going to have to get out of bed early.

Three days.
I think my tear ducts can just about cope !
