“😡 HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN TO BECKY’S BAKERY?! 😡

Popped in for a bacon butty and honestly, I’m fuming.

One bite and now the breakfast I make at home “isn’t the same”. My car turns into Becky’s all by itself, and I apparently can’t go to work without a coffee now. 😭

Made the mistake of telling everyone at work where I was going…

Now I’ve got six orders, three bank transfers and someone shouting “GET ME ONE TOO!”

I DIDN’T APPLY TO BE THE BREAKFAST DELIVERY DRIVER. 🤣”

I absolutely love learning about the history of our town 🥰

I’ve been looking into who lived in my mum’s house many, many years ago and found out there were SIX people living there… in a two-bedroom house! Although I suppose the toilet might’ve been outside, so that freed up a bit of room 🤣

After being sent this old picture of what’s now Becky’s Bakery, back when it was a butcher’s, I’ve found myself wanting to know more. Look at the cars and our little row of shops! 😍

I find it fascinating to think that someone once had their whole home upstairs, going about their everyday life in a place where we’re now making your butties!

Does anyone else love finding out about our lovely town’s past? So many stories and so many beautiful buildings. If you’ve got any old photos or memories of our little row of shops, I’d love to see them ❤️

We’ve had loaaaaaads of new followers recently, so I thought it was time for a little introduction… and the story of how Becky’s Bakery even came about! 🥰

I’m Becky, I’m 33 and a single mum to my two beautiful children ❤️

After leaving school, I went to college and then university, studying early years and childhood studies. I qualified as a Level 6 nursery nurse, alongside qualifications in business and management. My ambition was always to open my own nursery!

But life had other ideas… 🤣

After having my children, I took some time out to raise them while completing my uni course and volunteering in a nursery. I then started working in a little bakery, just three days a week… and I absolutely LOVED it!

Unfortunately, the lovely couple I worked for were retiring, and knowing it was coming to an end meant going to work didn’t quite feel the same.

Then someone planted a little idea in my head…

“Why don’t you buy Wild Flour and make it your own?” 👀

Fast forward a few weeks, we went to view it, we put an offer in, and before we knew it… THE KEYS WERE OURS!! 🔑🥹

My family and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and give the place a good scrub! Four weeks of cleaning, decorating and a LOT of hard work later… Becky’s Bakery was born! 🥪☕️

And look at us now… heading in our FOURTH YEAR in January!!🥰

It’s been “crackers”, as I always like to say 🤣 There’s been laughter, tears, hard work and plenty of moments where I’ve wondered what on earth I’ve got myself into… but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us, whether you’ve been here since day one or have only just found us. You’re all part of our little bakery story ❤️

And here’s a video of me struggling to unlock the door on the day we picked up the keys… clearly a very professional businesswoman from the start 🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Just to give everyone an update: we still haven’t heard anything further from the police about the break-in at Becky’s Bakery.

We know who was responsible, but as far as we’re aware, he hasn’t been arrested in connection with our break-in. Luke and 4 others, have since been arrested in connection with a separate incident in Great Harwood, which some of you may have read about in the Lancashire Telegraph, involving two people reportedly being robbed at knifepoint.

After Googling his name, I was shocked by how many previous offences came up. I really hope what happened at the bakery is dealt with too.

As angry as I am about what happened to us, I also find it incredibly sad. What sort of life must someone be living if they’re stealing to fund a drug habit? I hope he gets the help he needs, while everyone affected gets the answers and justice they deserve.
