BBF supplies products to leading retailers and export partners across the UK and Europe. We develop and manufacture an extensive range of high-quality ambient cakes and desserts across several categories. This includes celebration cakes, fruit pies and tarts, chocolate enrobed cakes, Christmas cakes and mince pies, as well as a variety of chilled desserts including cheesecakes, sponge puddings and

crumbles. BBF operates six bakeries, five across the North of England and one in Poland, employing over 2,000 people. Each of our bakeries work hard to maintain very high quality standards (A* BRC Accreditation) and leading service levels to our customers. Our expert NPD and innovation teams enable us to develop, distribute and launch market leading cakes and desserts, keeping the consumer at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to ensure we meet customer demand and deliver the right, high quality, products to the market.

Mark Izzard, Technical Director explains what Pride Month means to him. 🌈

"This Pride Month is especially meaningful for me and my partner because we have adopted a child and become parents.

Our journey included assessments, training, home visits and plenty of paperwork, but the focus was always on providing a loving and supportive home for a child. The day we were matched with our child was one of the happiest moments of our lives.

Pride is a reminder of how far society has come and the progress that has made opportunities like adoption possible for LGBTQ+ families. It is also a time to celebrate the many different forms that families can take.

I am grateful for the support I have received from colleagues and for working in an organisation that values inclusion.

This Pride Month, I am celebrating both my identity and the family we have built together." 🏳️‍🌈

Congratulations to Nathan on a fantastic professional achievement! 🎉

We’re proud to share that Nathan has successfully completed the PIABC Level 3 in Packaging qualification, a highly detailed and demanding course with examinations throughout its delivery.

Through the programme, Nathan developed strong technical knowledge across key areas including material properties, sustainability requirements, and production processes. One of the greatest challenges was working with unfamiliar materials such as glass, known for its complex characteristics, a challenge he met head‑on.

Reflecting on the experience, Nathan said:

“Completing the Packaging course has been both a challenging and rewarding experience. It has enhanced both my technical knowledge and creative thinking.”

As a result of completing the qualification, Nathan is now recognised as a Technician of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and can use the post‑nominal TIMMM, a fantastic professional milestone.

Well done, Nathan 👏 A well‑deserved achievement.
