Back at the hut this week, and straight into some survival skills! 🔥

We started working towards the Survival Skills Activity Badge with a bit of cooking over the fire, making a stew, and refreshing some basic lashings to help us build shelters.

We’ll be carrying on with this over the next few weeks as we get ready for our mystery hike later in the term!

It was also great to be back in our hut after the new roof went on, and even better to welcome 4 new Explorers and 2 new adults to the team!

A pretty good first week back. ⚜️

Looking for adventure, new friends, and a place to belong?

At Laser Explorer Sea Scouts, young people aged 14-18 can take part in everything from survival skills and mystery hikes to ice skating, radio communication, and exciting city challenges. And that's just the next 6 months! Our programme is packed with opportunities to try something new, build confidence, and develop skills for life.

We're proud to be a welcoming and inclusive Explorer Unit where everyone can make friends, have a laugh, and be themselves. With a flexible programme designed to fit around school, work, and home life, there's something for everyone.

We're also always looking for adult volunteers who want to make a difference, learn new skills, and be part of a fantastic team.

A huge THANK YOU 🙌 to our amazing volunteers who gave up their weekend to help make our Scout Hut welcoming and inviting once again ✨ After many hours of hard work 💪, the difference is incredible — we really couldn’t do it without you!

Now we’d love a little help to keep it looking its best 🌱
With just a handful of helpers, it could mean giving up as little as ONE hour a year ⏰

If you’re a parent, why not save yourself an extra journey and mow the lawn while you’re dropping your young person off? 🌿
Equipment is provided 👍

Congratulations to one of our volunteers on achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award! 🏅👏

Today they joined thousands of other young people celebrating their achievement in the gardens of Buckingham Palace — an incredible way to mark years of hard work, resilience and adventure.

At Scouts, DofE is about so much more than completing sections. Young people build confidence, develop life skills, make lifelong friends and experience adventures they’ll never forget 🌍🔥🥾

Our cubs have been out leaving trails for other cubs to track by leaving arrows and crosses from natural materials.

We also visited our Scout hut to look for tracks and signs of our resident family of Foxes (Warning, this video contains maximum cuteness).

We can’t wait to have our very own cubs back using this area, but for now it’s natures playground 🦊

Our Sixers are working towards their team leader challenge badge.

Tonight they are working with their Six to decide what they’d take if stuck on a desert island.
