A little note from us at Levain & Cherry
We know some of you have been wondering what’s happening with our Kings Heath bakery, and we want to reassure you — we haven’t forgotten about it, and we certainly haven’t forgotten about you.
We’re a small independent team doing our very best to bring artisan baking to our communities — and while our hearts are absolutely in it, our hands are stretched. The truth is, artisan bakers are a rare breed, and finding the right people to join us has been tougher than expected. We’re working hard behind the scenes to build the right team so we can reopen Kings Heath as soon as possible, without compromising the quality you’ve come to expect from us.
As the owner, I’m currently working 17–18 hour days just to keep things running smoothly in Stirchley. It’s not always easy to hear frustration about Kings Heath while we’re pouring everything we have into making things work.
On top of staffing challenges, we’ve had a fair share of technical issues too — new equipment, electrical inconsistencies, and unfortunately, a lot of wasted produce. It’s been disheartening, but we’re pushing through.
This post isn’t for sympathy — it’s simply a promise that we’re doing everything we can to get Kings Heath back open and to keep delivering the high-quality baked goods you love.
We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us — your kind words, patience, and loyalty truly keep us going. And to the new faces we’ve welcomed recently: we’re so happy to have you with us!
All we ask is this: before voicing frustration, please remember there are real people behind Levain & Cherry, giving it their all every single day.
Thank you for sticking with us.
