This week, we’ll be donating 30p from every coffee sold from today until Saturday to support mental health services in Birmingham.

We’re open for coffee only today, so if you’re around Stirchley, please keep us in mind. Your caffeine fix can do a little good, too. ☕️

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear Tom passed away peacefully and unexpectedly last Thursday.

Tom has been a much-loved part of the Levain & Cherry family for the past five years. Many of you will know him as the warm, smiling face in our Kings Heath bakery; always kind, gentle and happy to have a chat. He was so much more than a member of our team; he was a very special person to all of us, and of course, most importantly, Kate’s Dad and Pascal’s father-in-law-to-be.

Tom was one of those people who quietly made a difference simply by being himself. He was loved, appreciated and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sent messages, shared memories or offered their condolences. Hearing such kind words about Tom has brought great comfort to his family and to all of us at Levain & Cherry during this incredibly difficult time.

One small request from us: if you happen to have any photos of the bakery with Tom in them, we would be so grateful if you could send them to us. We would love to collect as many memories of him as we can. 🙏🏼

Tom you will always be part of L&C. Your absence will be felt every time we open the doors of our Kings Heath bakery. We miss you more than words can say. ❤️

Are you a professional baker with at least 2-4 years’ experience working in a professional bakery setting?
Do you love making great bread and viennoiserie, and want to be part of a growing bakery team?

🔎 WE’RE CURRENTLY HIRING:

👨🏻‍🍳 Baker — Full-time & Part-time
👩🏽‍🍳 Head Baker — Full-time

✨ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Minimum 2 years’ professional bakery experience for Baker positions
• Minimum 4 years’ professional bakery experience for Head Baker*
• Experience working with artisan bread and/or pastry
• Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality products
• Able to work efficiently and calmly in a busy, fast-paced bakery
• Right to work in the UK

*Please note that Head Baker applicants must have previous supervisory or management experience

⏰ WORKING HOURS:

Full-time: 40 hours per week, Tuesday–Saturday
Part-time: 24 hours per week, Thursday–Saturday

What a great first week back at it 🥹

Hello Birmingham! Thank you for bearing with us through our August closure 🤎

We’ve had a much-needed chance to rest, recharge and enjoy some proper time off — and we’re feeling very ready to get back to baking!

We’ll be reopening tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September, and for the foreseeable future we’ll only be open Thursday–Saturday while we work on building our team back up.

A little summer pause... ☀️🥐

After what has been an incredibly busy year, it’s time for our wonderful team to enjoy a well-deserved break.

Our last day of opening will be Saturday 1st August, and we’ll be taking a rest throughout August before reopening on Thursday 3rd September.

Running an independent bakery is a real labour of love, and we’re so grateful for every loaf you’ve bought, every coffee you’ve shared with us, and every time you’ve chosen to support our little business. Your support means more than you know.

We hope you’ll enjoy the rest of your summer, and we can’t wait to welcome you back in September with fresh sourdough, buttery pastries and plenty of exciting bakes.

📢 Temporary Change to Our Opening Days at both Stirchley & Kings Heath

Due to temporary staffing shortages, we will be reducing our opening days for a short period.

From next week (Thursday 2nd July), we will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only.

This is a temporary change, and we hope to return to our usual Wednesday to Saturday opening as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and continued custom.

🔎 Now Hiring:
👨🏻‍🍳 Baker (Full-time & Part-time positions available) 👩🏽‍🍳

📌 Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a bakery setting (this is not a trainee or internship position)
✅ Skilled in artisan bread and/or pastry production
✅ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

⏰ Working Hours:
