This weekend was also about the wedding of Mike and Anna. Their love for each other shines through bright as sun and Homme House, Much Marcle is a magical place where the time seems to have stopped for a bit giving us a window to the glorious past.
We are grateful to the bride and groom for choosing us and brought us from so far away for their special day. This makes us feel valued and appreciated beyond measure.
We also give special thanks to the venue's team that was so friendly and helpful and ensured we had a perfect set up. ♥️💕♥️

Te așteptăm la The Sunny Turtle by Nicolle pentru Coffee and Your Rights.

Evenimente organizate în cadrul proiectului „Know Your Rights, CEE Victims’ Code Community Hub”, susținut de West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

🌹📚 DEAREST READER… YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED 📚🌹

✨ JANE AUSTEN: PRIDE & PREJUDICE
🫖 TEA PARTY & BOOK CLUB 🫖

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a person in possession of a good book must surely be in want of tea, cake… and excellent company. ☕🍰

On Sunday 4th October, The Sunny Turtle by Nicolle will be transformed into our own little corner of Pemberley for a rather special afternoon devoted to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

And this is certainly not going to be an ordinary book club.

📖 Our conversation will be facilitated by Lindsay and Finn, our Creative Writing graduate, who will guide us through the wit, romance, characters, misunderstandings and delicious social observations that have made Pride and Prejudice irresistible for more than two centuries.

Haven’t finished the book?
Come anyway!

Haven’t even started it?
We promise not to inform Lady Catherine. 😉

Everyone is welcome — whether you know every word of Pride and Prejudice or simply fancy discovering Jane Austen over a beautiful afternoon tea.

🫖 YOUR AFTERNOON AT PEMBERLEY INCLUDES

🥪 A selection of elegant finger sandwiches
🍓 Warm scone with clotted cream & strawberry preserve
🌹 Regency-inspired cakes, including our special Mr Darcy’s Pemberley Rose
🍑 Beautiful peach treats
☕ A choice of fine teas and freshly brewed coffee
📚 Guided Pride and Prejudice book-club conversation
💌 The Meryton Society Papers — our anonymous gossip box
🎀 Best Regency Outfit Competition
🎁 Games, prizes and a few surprises...

And naturally, there is Mr Darcy. 🎩❤️

We will have a LIFE-SIZE MR DARCY waiting in our special Pemberley photo area.

Come and take your photograph with him.

We cannot guarantee that he has £10,000 a year or an estate in Derbyshire, but we have been assured that his brooding is excellent. 😂

👗 Regency-inspired dress is very much encouraged, but completely optional.

🌸 SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2026

⏰ 11:30am – 3:00pm

🎟️ £24.99 per person

🥂 Feeling particularly accomplished?
Add a glass of Prosecco or a cocktailfor £5.

Places are limited, so do not behave like Mr Darcy and spend half the story deciding how you feel. Secure your place at the table. 😂🌹

Come alone, bring your best friend, your sister, your mother — or perhaps an eligible gentleman who has recently arrived in the neighbourhood...

Books. Tea. Coffee. Cake. Friendship. Darcy. And, inevitably, gossip.

🌹 All are welcome at our table. 🌹

Bonnets optional. Good manners encouraged. Gossip inevitable.
