William joined Bakels in 2017 straight from University College Birmingham as Baking Centre Manager. Instead of progressing into Technical Support, he chose to move into the commercial team, combining his baking knowledge with a customer-focused role. Since then, William has worked his way to National Commercial Manager.
โI enjoy working closely with our customers. Being part baker and part sales really helps, you understand what matters to them and how products perform in practice.โ
Alongside his role, William is passionate about supporting the next generation of bakers. He works closely with bakery industry bodies and regularly visits universities to speak to students about careers in the industry.

Williamโs contribution to the industry has recently been recognised by the Worshipful Company of Bakers, where he received the Journeyman Award. This award recognises both his own progression and his commitment to supporting new bakers entering the industry.
