A customer brought us these last week… and it got us thinking 🥹💗
Last year, the lovely Louise came into our shop looking for a little help and advice. Afterwards, she took the time to leave us the most glowing review, which meant the absolute world.
Fast forward to this year and Louise was back, this time taking on the very special (and slightly terrifying 😂) task of making her daughter’s wedding cake. She popped in for some advice along the way and, of course, we were more than happy to help.
Then last week, she came back with these chocolates to say thank you 🥹🍫
Having a shop front in this economy is HARD. There’s no sugar coating it. But moments like this remind us that our little shop gives us something we’d never get from simply selling online.
We get to meet people.
People who love cake as much as we do. People who understand just how much time, skill and, let’s face it, money goes into making one 😂 People from completely different walks of life who might pop in for a cake board and end up staying for a chat.
Sometimes we’re celebrating with you, sometimes we’re problem solving and sometimes we’re just having a good old natter. Customers become familiar faces, familiar faces become friends, and sometimes we might even be the only people someone has spoken to that day. 💗
One of our biggest mottos has always been “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
So whilst these chocolates represent one lovely customer appreciating us, we wanted to turn it around and say how much we appreciate all of you.
Every order, whether it’s £2 or £200. Every review, recommendation, share and kind word. Every person who chooses to fit our little shop into their budget, especially when we know everyone is feeling the pinch.
