Hello again Bedford. So much more to do and say, but I’ve gotta keep it brief until we get through Christmas Chaos. I’ve finally got our orders form online and you can pre-order all your bakery bits there. It’s all still a work in progress, so bear with while I add all the other bits and do some finessing.

The cut off for Friday orders is Wednesday at 13:30, and Saturday & Sunday orders will finish at 13:30 on Thursday. If you miss the cut off, no worries- we’ll still have loads for walk-ins!

Quick one for you as I’ve got to be up tomorrow morning really bright and early to do BREAD FOR SATURDAY. Yes, you can put your pitchforks down. There will FINALLY be bread on Saturday.
Look it’s still not ready to be OPEN open so it’s bread and cinnamon buns only and pre orders are for our standing order/regular customers only (including those of you that have standing orders for bread on other days- I’ll have it for you on Sat!!)

We’ll be slinging loaves from the doorway at 6 Mill Street from 10am-12pm this Saturday. Don’t mind the mess and dust sheets, we’ll have it all sorted soon.

I can’t wait to see you all, WE’VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH.

We’re putting bread on pause for a couple weeks after this Saturday, (Oct. 21st!) But it’s for an exciting reason- we’re moving house.

We’re winding down our space here under the carpark soon, and heading to a little shop just around the corner at 6 Mill Street. We’ll still have all the bread and bakery bits you know, they’ll just be an extra minute’s walk away. It’s a tiny little space- so it’ll be takeaway only. We’ll also be stocking our shelves full of interesting and lovely groceries, kitchen essentials, & dinner party supplies. Think of it as anything you might need for early mornings or late nights- stuff for whatever small hours you frequent, ya know?

More to share soon, but for now we’ve got LOTS to do to get this place ready for you. But between making a billion loaves for you lot every week, and converting our new space into a proper bakery from it’s former glory as an estate agent, it’s been a bit much. Not to mention the logistics of winding down this space (anyone want a 10 foot tall bread oven??? Lmk.)

So no bread for a couple weeks while we sort it all. This Saturday is your last day you can place an order for- and I’ll give you heads up when we reopen for bread orders. Form is open and ready- we’re technically past our ordering window, but I’ll leave it open a while longer. The team will still be here from Thurs-Sat for coffee and most of our other bakery bits, just no bread.

As always, thank you thank you thank you for supporting this scrappy little bakery of ours. This is such a bittersweet moment here, but it’s also all joy and positivity. It’s only possible because y’all won’t stop banging down our doors for bread. Thank you. Can’t wait for you to see it. 💫⏰

Howdy! In case you missed all of us yelling about it last week: we’re only open on SATURDAY this week. Shut on Thurs 28th, Friday 29th, and Sunday 1st- as we work on getting our ducks in a row so we can let you guys in on the big project we’ve been chipping away at 🦆

As always- will have your coffee needs covered while we’re not around, so don’t fret there.
What you absolutely SHOULD fret about is getting your bread orders for this Saturday to me ASAP. We’re piling the whole weeks worth of bread and bun orders into one day this week so get ‘em in so I can make a PLAN. Help me help you, ya know?

This is a particularly lovely example of a loaf that we will not have today as it’s my BIRTHDAY and also Simon and I are taking the day to work on some big ole exciting plans coming up.
We’ve still have some fresh sandwich loaves and focaccias today (and sliced frozen loaves for 1/2 off!)
The team are manning the fort and will have all the usual coffee, drinks, etc and have rustled up a stellar counter of sandwiches and bits for you. You can leave all extravagant gifts and birthday wishes for me with them ☀️🍊

It’s just popped up that it was exactly one year ago today that I attempted my very very first loaf of sourdough. Definitely not my best work here- but I’ve done the maths, and it was the first of nearly 20,000(!) loaves made over the past year. Admittedly, it was a bit discouraging to have it turn out so poor when OBVIOUSLY I fully expected to produce the absolute best loaf of bread anyone has ever made on my first attempt. But the next one was better, and the next and the next. And here we are now, thousands of loaves later, most of which are pretty decent, and still some are not so decent.

Anywho. Thanks for buying all that bread this past year. It means a lot. Though this does mean that going forward I WILL be using this day as a second birthday. I will be expecting many gifts, bouquets of flowers and pats on the back when we’re back open on Thursday 🎂

last slide is a bonus screenshot of sam sending me the bread count for this past Sunday. Evidence that I still have minimum 3 wonky loaves a day. But there’s at least 80 good ones everyday too. It’s all a numbers game, y’all. Thanks for everything. See you soon 💫

Look I know we’re not open today (or tomorrow. or Wednesday.) But I’m giving you loads of advance notice so you can plan your visit Thurs-Sun and get your hands on these bad boys.

🥪The new (vegan!) option to the roster has roasted red onion, courgette, and red peppers with house sundried tapenade and these salty herby crisps from .Brussels. Yeah. CRISPS. The only way to eat a sandwich. I stand by that.

🥪 Plus our tried and true Bacon Garlic. You know it. You love it. You effectively bullied us into putting it back on the menu. You’re welcome.

Quick little update for you for the weekend: we’ll have reduced hours on Good Friday, and be shut on Easter Sunday to give us all a little extra time to sit around and eat chocolate.

The good news: I’ve reopened the online ordering form if you wanted to book in a loaf for the weekend, and I’ve added a few extras to the form if you need any emergency bun/cookie rations for the long weekend. Link is here ⬇️⬇️

Hi!! We’ve got some news I think you might like. We’re officially opening SUNDAYS!! Starting from this week our hours will be changing a bit:

Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 9-4
Sunday 10-2
(Closed Monday-Wednesday)

We’ll have loads of loaves everyday and counters full of all your faves, plus a few new things we’re excited to share about next week.

We’ve spoken with some of you guys this past week about the schedule change and we’re super super grateful of how understanding and supportive you’ve all been about it. It means a lot. Really.

A tiny explainer if you’re interested: We’ve been shut on Mondays for a while now, and Tues/Wed have had to be a pretty slim offerings since it takes a couple days to get most things prepped and on the counter. Our new schedule means we have the prep and planning time we need to make sure we’ve got full counters and bread on the shelves every single day we’re open. Plus, we can just generally make more for each day, and you won’t have to panic to get in early before we sell out. That extra time also means we can finally action all the exciting new stuff we’ve had in the pipeline for a while, plus bring back some of the old hits I know you guys might miss. Less important, (but also still kinda important) we can still have an entire day off. Running a small service business sometimes can feel a little like doing hard labor and it’s deeply helpful to have a day off from lugging around big ole sacks of flour 😹

We’ve truly got some mega Sunday plans for this summer that I can’t wait to share with you soon. (Maybe a bit of could come out hibernation??)

So. Come join us this Sunday, you can DM us to reserve bread and other bits if you’d like, but there will be plenty on the shelves too if you want to just swing by. If you’re driving, remember the lovely car park above us is two hours free parking on the weekend 🎊

We’re so excited, hope you are too.
