Bedale Community Bakery

Bedale Community Bakery Bread: Slow proved, crafted with natural ingredients. We also have a delicious range of homemade ice cream, waffles, cakes, sausage rolls and quiches.

We are a community bakery in Bedale, North Yorkshire. We are passionate about bringing real bread to all parts of our community. We do not use artificial additives or preservatives, palm oil or soya in any of our bread. We also use a mix of low yeast, slow prove and poolish/sponge bread making techniques. Sourdough bread is made everyday that we bake. As a non-for-profit organisation we hope to provide a fantastic resource for the people of our area and to enrich our community through our work.

Our new gazebo/market stall arrived today, so we will be on Leyburn Market tomorrow to tempt the shoppers with some tasty freshly baked bread and cakes. Volunteers, Carol and Lesley will be there to greet you, while Jared is off to Stokesley Market with a van load of more fresh baked bread and cakes. Remember, we do not use artificial additives, no palm oil or margarine, no GM or soya.

Pleased and excited to announce we will be attending Ripon Market on Thursday. As always, all breads, including Sourdoughs, quiches, sausage rolls, croissants, etc. will be prepared and baked fresh in the early hours of Thursday morning, before we rush off to the Market. We’ll hopefully be there for 9am.

***Delivery update***

As lockdown restrictions begin to relax, we feel that many people are starting to get out and about more. This is supported by the decreasing number of delivery orders we have been receiving over the last couple of weeks.
Therefore, we have decided that from the end of this month we will be stopping our delivery service (last delivery day will be Tuesday 30th June). This includes ordered collections from the bakery itself. You can find us at Bedale market on Tuesday’s and Masham market on Saturday’s where we will have an even wider range of produce for you to choose from. We will shortly be expanding the number of markets that we attend so watch this space!
We thank you all for your support during this unprecedented time and are pleased to have been able to help the community through this delivery service. Rest assured that if we have to reenter lockdown that the bakery will once again rise to support those in need.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

Due to the imminent arrival of our bakers second child, we will have insufficient staff to be able to attend Bedale or Masham markets for the next two weeks. The shop will be open for collections as usual on Tuesdays and Saturdays but we will ONLY be BAKING TO ORDER.
Orders must be placed by 6pm Thursday for the Saturday bake and by 6pm Sunday for the Tuesday bake. Orders can be placed via Facebook or Sophie on 07470470198.
