Twyfords Café—an independent, family-run staple in Beccles for 30 years—is looking for an experienced full time or part time chef to join our busy day-time kitchen. Perfect for someone who loves fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a close-knit team. Some early evening work may be required, but the hours are generally sociable.
What you’ll do
Prep fresh ingredients and cook made-to-order breakfasts & lunches.
Serve during our daytime service window (Mon–Sun)
Follow recipes & portion guides so every plate is consistent.
Bring fresh ideas and skills to complement the team.
Keep the kitchen spotless and organised, meeting all food-safety rules.
Help receive, date-label and store deliveries.
Integrate into all aspects of the team.
Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic to a fast-moving kitchen.
Must-have skills & experience
Some previous kitchen, café or catering experience.
Working knowledge of basic food-safety / hygiene practices.
Comfortable juggling multiple tickets in a busy service.
Able to follow instructions accurately and stay detail-oriented.
Nice-to-haves
Any bakery or pastry experience (we’ll happily teach the rest).
Food Safety Level 2 certificate.
Genuine passion for local, seasonal produce.

Primary workplace: Twyfords Café, Beccles NR34
Optional extra hours at our Beccles production kitchen or sister cafés.
Part-time 15–25 hrs/week
Full-time 40–45 hrs/week Age + experience dependent
