3 Top tips for styling your cake table…

It goes without saying that your wedding cake will be the most important cake you will ever buy. So we need to make the most of it. Don’t just shove it away in a dark corner. Here’s a few really easy ways to take your cake to the next level.

1. Hire a cake stand. Most venues have a cake stand. However they are usually very battered and bruised, cheaper plastic traditional stands. Not really suited for a tall beautiful modern cake. Pedestal stands are the most popular to hire for that timeless classic look plus they give you that all important extra height. However there are other options like acrylic, log slices, hoops etc depending on the look you would like to achieve.

2. Reuse your ceremony flowers or decor. If you’re having a floral archway or have a cool backdrop with a neon sign for your ceremony, don’t let that go to waste. Move it over after the ceremony to show the cake off.

3. You can never go wrong with a few candles and some chiffon. If you’re doing the styling yourself look on Pinterest for some inspiration and copy it. Alternatively hire a stylist who can bring your vision to life.

An elegant centrepiece for Laura & Duncan’s wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers 🤍 Their celebration coincided with the Tartan Day parade through the city, creating such a wonderful atmosphere and some memorable moments!

The cake itself was designed with understated luxury in mind, with a cascade of sugar roses, baby’s breath and eucalyptus, paired with flowing draped fondant. Timeless, minimalist and effortlessly chic.

Congratulations again to you both. It was an absolute pleasure to create this for your wedding, and I’m so happy to hear you had such a beautiful day. 🥂
