Yes that is a checkerboard inside!! I kind of had free range with this one so wanted to try something new, it turned out sooo well in my opinion🤩
The flavour of the cake was also inspired by battenberg, so we did a vanilla sponge with a layer of apricot filling with almond buttercream. Everyone loved it:)
