Sarah Carr's Speciality Cakes Bespoke, imaginative cakes for any celebration I now teach others some of the skills I have learnt.

I began making cakes for my children 19 years ago, within a few years family and friends began asking me to make cakes for their celebrations and this is when my hobby started becoming my profession. I am a self taught cake decorator and have developed my skill by reading dozens of cake books, hundreds of magazines and most importantly spent thousands of hours designing, baking, icing, modelling,

building cakes to suit and hopefully exceed my customers expectations. In addition to full days (and sometimes nights) of making cakes for my customers, I have entered competitions. I enter the International Squires Kitchen Annual Cake decorating competition, my cakes have taken 1st place for the past two years. I love to push the boundaries at these competitions and get to see the fabulous work of other cake decorators.

A dreamy four-tier wedding cake finished in soft blush pinks, delicate hand piping, and elegant cascading sugar roses 🌸✨

This beauty was created with:
🍰 Vanilla sponge filled with jam and buttercream
🍋 Lemon cake layered with zesty lemon curd and lemon buttercream
🍫 Rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream
🎂 A traditional rich fruit cake top tier

Every single rose cascading down the cake was lovingly handmade from sugar flower paste, while the delicate hand piping added an extra touch of timeless elegance 💕

One of my favourite things about wedding cakes is combining beautiful design with flavours guests will remember long after the big day.

Our grandson’s 5th birthday. He’s dinosaur and dragon obsessed. We even had to remove the cake from the hall as he was terrified it would get damaged (I actually made this using dummy cakes as he was traumatised from his dragon cake getting cut up last year). I did a separate cutting cake. 🥰
