Quick update: My recovery is going a lot slower than I anticipated and I'm still not up to baking again as of yet so I'm taking things easy, one step at a time.

Decadant cake plans have been put on hold for this year & I won't be baking anything to gift anytime soon but all being well I'm hoping to make some small gift boxes of gingerbread for christmas again for those interested.

Edible ornaments and hand painted biscuits like last year all being well. Something simple yet elegant.

Wishing you all well, hoping to be back posting photos of progress soon. Love to you all ###

Now I'm on the mend first orders from my 3 year old were to make gingerbread people, he's started to take a keen interest in sculpting lately so I want to try help him enjoy this as much as possible, he's been begging me to 'Make Booba' with him (if you know you know 😅🤦🏽‍♀️) so here we have the annoying creature in gingerbread form.

I've been trying to find the words to explain what's going on behind the scenes at the moment but I stumbled upon this photo and it perfectly captured how this week has felt.
Unfortunately I've come down with an ear infection which has tripped off the rest of my body to shut down as usual. So through no choice of my own I'm going to have to take some time off again. I'll rest up, eat well and journal my ideas until I've recovered from this. I'm praying it's a matter of days not weeks this time 🙏🏽

The fresh green is still gummy, ripable and squishy but the pink dried candy that has been exposed to oxygen has created a harder crystal shell to hold in it's squishy insides.
Everything you see here is edible 🤤

I'm pleased to be able to say that this month I'm off back to school! But this time voluntarily 😝
I'll be learning how to create two fantastic sculpted animals from the lovely Hannah over at https://www.facebook.com/thecakeillusionist/ (If you have an interest in animal cakes then she is your go to lady! - take a look at some of her phenomenal work)

I'll be spending June learning and then in July I plan to create a large sculpted creature to giveaway to one of you lucky lot! So keep your eyes peeled 😁 in the meantime back to preparing for the arrival of the Dragon!
