Visited this lovely cake shed ran by the fantastic Gracie Jones this afternoon.

I bought 4 bakes to “share” with the family… I ate most of them 😂

Super cheap prices, smell amazing, and were all delicious.

Lemon loaf was lovely. Cakes were the right level of sweetness without making your teeth ache, and after a quick chat with Gracie herself I wanted to just jump on here and highly recommend her shed.

Well done, girly. Keep up the good work! 💪🏼💪🏼

Well… it’s been a ride!

But… I have already decided to hang up the apron for the foreseeable future.

I love the actual baking, but I hate everything else that comes along with it when you are a business, the labelling, the stress I put on myself of being incredibly self critical of everything I do, not to mention the bonkers costs. It is not the crazy money maker that some news articles have made it out to be, there is very little profit in it, so in saving myself the stress and I’ll just do it for the love now.

Working full time, in what’s become an incredibly successful new charity shop, and then having to come home and work on the shed or orders is genuinely killing me off! I do not know how some of you warriors do it. Maybe if I was 10 years younger and wasn’t perimenopausal and falling apart I’d be coping with demand better 😅 but I have to concentrate on my shop, to ensure it continues to be the success I know it will be 🥰

I will still be here, posting my personal bakes, recommending sheds, and stuffing my face, but I won’t take any more orders or run the cake shed until my future future plans come into fruition.

I’ve built up a lovely friendship with some of my customers, you know who you are 🥰, so feel free to add my personal profile if want to.

If you have your eye on anything in particular, I recommend you get done early.

Store opens at 9 am and the Kate shed will be available from then until sellout.
