An 80th birthday calls for something truly special, and this classic, elegant style is always a favourite of mine to create.

I think I’m going international. In the last week I’ve had 2 cakes ordered from America. One from Dubai. And this one was ordered from Mumbai. Here we have Cookie Monster & he looks like he’s already had a lot of biscuits before the party’s even started! Funnily enough-so did I! Mcvities choc chip cookies are too big a temptation!

Creating this piece for Millie’s 21st birthday was certainly a challenge accepted. She wanted a design that reflected her style, the classic LV monogrammed bag.
The fun part of a project like this is the attention to detail. Things like getting the texture of the “leather” just right and hand-finishing the gold hardware so it looks authentic. It is always a bit of a surreal moment when you finally cut into something that looks so much like the real thing.

It is elegant enough for a big venue but looks just as good at a house party. I spend a lot of time on the fine details to make sure every bow is straight and the piping is clean. Since I use premium ingredients, it isn’t just for the photos. It tastes like a luxury treat should.
