Lead Time for Booking Cakes
This depends on the cake design, size, & amount of working time required to meet your design request, plus any other cakes I may have booked in. I strongly suggest 1 months notice for simple birthday cakes, more for complex designs and 6 months notice for wedding cakes .
*it is advisable to book as soon as you know the date you require a celebration cake, particular
ly for weddings, weekends, and holidays (Easter,Christmas etc.) Short notice bookings will always be considered, workload depending.
2. Booking fee Payments
For all orders, a non-refundable booking fee is required at the time of booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is then due on collection/delivery or 24hrs prior to collection if paying by bank transfer. No order will be released without full payment under any circumstances. Booking fee- a 50% fee is required for each order
*In the unlikely event that I am forced to cancel an order through no fault of the customer ALL monies will be refunded. No booking is confirmed until the booking fee is received
Payments/booking fees are the responsibility of the client, no reminders will be sent. Payments can be made by cash or Direct Bank Transfer. Collections/Deliveries
Once the order has left the premises (if collected) or after delivery, I accept no responsibility for damages. Delivery will be worked out by amount of time required and fuel costs
Non consumables
Some of my cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; when this is the case you will be made aware of this, once on collection and furthermore in writing you will receive all information relating to , ingredients Allergens, choking risk, artificial colours & flavours, how to transport your cake and how to store when at your destination in writing when you collect your cake, a signature is required on the file copy of this information. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that any choking risks are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption. These include: Support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbons, wires in sugar flowers/models, dry pasta in some toppers/Sprinkles, diamantΓ©, flower picks etc. Disclaimer
I do not do provide Free-From cakes, this includes nut- allergies , coeliac or any other reason a person may not be able to consume certain ingredients. I do provide a full list of ingredients, one copy for the customer one as a file copy, a signature on the file copy is required when collecting your cake. Colour & designs will be discussed, once you have agreed I aim to get as close as possible to colour and design. I cannot guarantee a 100% colour match, however I will aim to get it as close as possible. I request you send images on your first point of contact with The Orange Door, this will help speed up getting to an end result with design. I am happy to take inspiration from photos you send, I prefer not to make direct copies of another cake artists design due to respect gor them owning that design, however I will be happy to make something similar where possible. Due to the handmade nature of my cakes some variation may occur and no two cakes will ever be exactly the same. I reserve the right to amend any of these Terms and Conditions at any time. Cancellations/Refunds
As stated in section 2, all booking fees are non refundable, but may, at my discretion be transferred to another date. If a cancellation is made after the booking fee is paid, the fee is forfeited. Any addition monies paid above the booking fee value will be returned provided cancellation is made in writing no later than 7 days before the booking date,NO CANCELLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH LESS THAN 7 DAYS NOTICE (1 month for wedding orders) BEFORE THE ORDER DATE, AFTER THE CANCELLATION PERIOD HAS ENDED THE FULL BALANCE IS DUE. Refunds are only available in the unlikely event that there is an issue with your order that is purely my fault, in this case the cake must be returned for inspection with 24hrs of collection. Photos also required . (no return, no refund). No refund will be given if a cake has been stored incorrectly
By paying your booking fee you are agreeing to these terms and entering into a contract with The Orange Door Barnoldswick
