Hey folks,

You may have heard of a Yorkshire rarebit (with two rashers of bacon), and possibly even a golden or buck rarebit (with a poached egg), but this…is a Derbyshire rarebit (I’ll have both please duck).

I’d like to take credit for this invention but the good people of Derbyshire requested the pairing so often I had no option but to put it on the menu!

Hey folks,

After a week away our chef is back and our kitchen is open again. We will be serving our usual favourites and some specials, as well as bread, cakes, coffee and pastries from Wye Bakehouse and sausage rolls from Coates. We hope to see you over the coming days!

Pass by and say hi, we’re open Thursday-Sunday 9am-2pm and we’re looking forward to welcoming you.

Our Italian bistro LA FONTANA is open as usual this Friday and Saturday.

Hey folks!

It’s suddenly become cold in Youlgreave but it’s warm here, we have good food and Anne Marie is on duty ready to welcome you all.

We have some almond pastries which we’ve prepared ourselves. These always sell like hot cakes when we have them so to avoid disappointment, don’t be a late bird!

A fresh batch of our lovely tea cakes!

We make our tea cakes with orange zest, candied peel and sultanas.

Our recipe is an amalgamation of many recipes from favourite restaurants and cafes visited or worked at over the years.

Personally, I (Matthew) think that these tea cakes are perfect for a fruity and zesty kind of cheese on toast.

Prepping the next batch of shakshuka, with Isle of Wight tomatoes and red, yellow and green peppers.

Half of the ingredients for the shakshuka are roasted in the bread oven using the latent heat after baking the bread.
