Oh, dear…
🏴In Romania, there is a joke about cherries that appear for sale in markets at the beginning of spring, due to their extremely high price compared to other fruits. Those who are willing to pay a rather hefty price are considered 'rich'! 🤭
Many people take pictures with the precious cherries and post them online along with jokes like: “I should have paid for a BMW installment or booked a trip to the Maldives instead”.
On the other hand, our beloved and indispensable chocolate, found in most artisanal desserts, has also faced significant price increase over and over…😪
West Africa is the most important region for cocoa crops. However, the cocoa trees in that area have been affected by disease and a series of extreme weather phenomena, leading to a drastic decrease in cocoa bean production, hence the massive price hikes.
Nevertheless, we cannot give up on our wonderful and velvety chocolate! Right? ☺️ And, especially, when we are talking about the most delicious and…expensive Belgian chocolate from Callebault! Actually, the MOST expensive is Valrhona chocolate!! 🙈
For this reason, I find the comparison with the rather expensive early-season cherries, which many people cannot resist, to be very fitting.🤭
🇷🇴Cu totii stim glumele din Romania pe tema cireselor care apar la vanzare in piete la inceputul primaverii, datorita pretului extrem de ridicat comparativ cu alte fructe.
Cei care sunt dispusi sa plateasca un pret destul de piperat, sunt considerati "bogati"! Multe persoane isi fac poze cu pretioasele cirese si posteaza online alaturi de glume de genul: "mai bine plateam o rata la BMW sau mai bine imi faceam rezervare in insulele Maldive".
Ciocolata nostra mult iubita si indispensabila din majoritatea deserturilor artizanale a suferit cresteri majore ale preturilor. 😪
Vestul Africii este cea mai importanta regiune pentru culturile de cacao. Insa arborii de cacao din zona respectiva au fost afectati de boli si o serie de fenomeme meteo extreme, ceea ce a dus la scaderea drastica a productiei de boabe de cacao, de aici si scumpirile masive.
Cu toate acestea, nu putem renunta la minunata si catifelata ciocolata. Si mai ales daca este belgiana, super scumpa si se numeste Callebault! De fapt, nu! CEA MAI scumpa este ciocolata frantzuzilor, Valrhona! 🙈
Din acest motiv, mi se pare foarte buna comparatia cu ciresele destul de scumpe la inceput de sezon, dar la care multa lume nu poate renunta. 🤭
