Green Waste Club

Green Waste Club A fortnightly Garden Waste Collection service which is available to residents in Arun, Herefordshire, Melton, Portsmouth and Tandridge.

Making regular trips to the tip to drop off your garden waste can be a hassle and wastes precious time that could be spent enjoying your beautiful garden. Instead opt for a fortnightly garden waste collection from Biffa’s Green Waste Club, who will collect leaves, grass cuttings, hedge and tree cuttings straight from the kerbside. Green Waste Club is currently available in Arun, East Northamptonsh

ire, Herefordshire, Melton, Portsmouth and Tandridge. Garden waste is a valuable resource that can be repurposed into compost to help new gardens and farmland flourish. Putting garden trimmings into your general waste will not only take up unnecessary space in your bin but it will offer a one way ticket to landfill for this precious source of nourishment. Biffa will provide you with a separate 240l bin, especially for any garden waste. Not only are the bins more ecological compared to garden waste sacks, which are often made of single use plastics, but they won’t tear and can easily be wheeled to wherever you need it. Our customer base of over 65,000 properties have helped us to divert almost 90,000 tonnes of garden waste from landfill for the monthly price of less than a cup of coffee and slice of cake! After one of the driest springs on record, this week's rain is doing more good than harm.

While it may be frustrating for outdoor plans, gardens, trees and water supplies across the UK will certainly appreciate it. 🌧️🌱

Rain has finally returned this week - giving us a chance to start preparing for what experts are warning could be a hotter and drier than average summer.

🌍 Today is World Environment Day.

This year's theme encourages us to think about the signals our planet is sending and the actions we choose to take in response.

At Green Waste Club, we're proud to help thousands of households recycle their garden waste, turning it into a valuable resource instead of sending it to landfill.

Thank you for doing your bit for the environment, one garden at a time. 🌱

🐝 This World Bee Day, it’s worth remembering that gardens play a bigger role for bees than many people realise.

Even small outdoor spaces can help support bees throughout spring and summer by providing nectar-rich plants and places to thrive.

A few bee-friendly favourites include:
β€’ Lavender
β€’ Alliums
β€’ Foxgloves
β€’ Salvia
β€’ Verbena

Leaving some areas a little wilder and choosing nectar-rich plants can make a real difference.

With summer getting closer, lavender will soon start making an appearance in gardens across the UK.

English lavender is one of the most popular garden plants for a reason β€” fragrant, hardy and loved by pollinators throughout the warmer months.

πŸ’œ Known for its strong scent, lavender has long been used in perfumes, oils and dried flower arrangements. Its flowers and leaves are also often used in pot pourri, lavender bags and even baking.

πŸ’œ It’s also a favourite with wildlife, providing nectar for bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other beneficial garden insects across a long flowering period.

πŸ’œ Lavender thrives in sunny spots with well-draining soil, making it ideal for borders, paths and containers. Despite its Mediterranean look, it’s well suited to UK gardens thanks to its hardiness and ability to cope with British winters.
