🏆 First Place – Senior Victoria Sponge Class 🏆

A fantastic result at this year’s Young Farmers Rally, bringing home 1st Place in the Senior Victoria Sponge Class! 🎂

This three-layer Victoria sponge was filled with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam, topped with fresh strawberries, and finished with a light dusting of icing sugar. Every element was carefully crafted to create a cake that not only looked the part but delivered on flavour and texture too.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising such a brilliant event, and congratulations to all the other competitors. Here’s to many more baking challenges ahead!

First time writing with icing — and doing it with whip icing made it even more fun 🎂✨

This cake may not look bakery-perfect, but I’m so proud of how it turned out. From the smooth chocolate frosting to the piped swirls and the handwritten “Happy Stag Do!” on top, every part was made with love (and a little patience 😅).

Learning how to pipe and write with icing for the first time was messy, sweet, and totally worth it 🤎

And a big thank you to sophie_dolder_photography for tanking photos!
