Yes to crisp, cold autumn days if it means one thing: homemade soup!

Our production kitchen is filled with steam, the wonderful aromas of fresh vegetables and delicious flavours slowly simmering away. A warming, wholesome and comforting lunch, served with a delicious Nena Sourdough baguette and butter. Nothing beats that first warming spoonful when there’s a chill in the air.

Thursday night is the busiest night for our bakers. From feeding the starter to mixing, folding, shaping and allowing the dough to slowly prove before baking them in time for the weekend. Our night-time heroes come in as we head to bed, working through the night to make sure everything is ready for the morning. They’re the ones sweeping away the last traces of flour just as our alarms start going off.

We don’t give them enough presence on here (sorry, I’m as fast asleep as the rest of you), but they deserve every bit of recognition. Proof of their hard work and incredible skill is our wonderful sourdough bread, with its tangy flavour, delicious chewy texture and wonderfully crisp crust. No shortcuts, just simple ingredients, time, patience and the dedication of our amazing bakers.

See you in the morning, when you’ll find these beauties waiting on the shelves.

WE DO CAKES! And, if we may say so ourselves, we do them rather well.

You guys clearly love our Weekend Special Cakes, so we thought it was about time you could order them for yourselves. Whether you’ve got a house party, birthday barbecue, dinner with friends, or simply looking for a very good excuse to eat a lot of cake… we’ve got you covered.

Our full range of cakes is now available to order from both our Amersham and Berkhamsted shops.

Well… since our last post casually went and got 110K views, we thought we’d take the opportunity to throw the ball back into your court… as we may, just maybe, be looking for exactly you to join our team.

We’re looking for a Senior Barista to join our wonderful team.

As a barista, you’re often one of the first people our customers see when they walk through the door. And, more often than not, you’re probably one of the reasons they come back in the first place.

It’s a busy role. It’s demanding, and there are definitely days when you’ll make more coffees than you can count. But you also get to make hundreds of people happy every day, and there’s something pretty lovely about that.

At our bakeries, we like to keep things creative. We love playing with trends, trying new things and having fun with what we do, while always being mindful of quality, consistency and, most importantly, great coffee.

So, if you’re an experienced barista, love working with people, care about what you’re putting in the cup and think you’d be a good fit for our team, we’d love to hear from you.
