Palette knife flowers - always more nervous of doing these designs as they much less about precision and accuracy and much more just let the creativity flow which you never know quite how they’re going to turn out but ALWAYS without fail are the most special once they’re done 🫶🏼

1 year ago today - the happiest day of my life by a long way ❤️ since then things have changed a little bit -> been baking something very special ☺️.

Little bun coming this winter means sadly I’m not taking any more new bookings for the rest of this year and will be finishing off weddings in October/November before maternity leave begins! Will keep you updated for next steps for HM but for now thank you so much for all your support so far and all the AMAZING couples who’s weddings I had to pass on next year who have been so incredibly understanding! Still have plenty more weddings to show you from the last few months and coming up so not going anywhere soon! 🥳🥳

It’s HOT 😎☀️🔥 If your wedding is in the next few weeks please consider moving your cake cutting forward in the day - cakes left sat out in mostly non-air conditioned venues for 8 hours regardless of what they’re made from will start to look a little sad!

Proof that a totally white cake can look absolutely stunning!!! 🤍🤍🤍 especially when adorned with blooms from the wonderful . Another gorgeous wedding (which thankfully has the most heavenly aircon 👌🏻🤩)

Feels like summer 🌸 first cake of the year when I was ever so slightly worried about the cake in the heat!!! 😅

UPDATE 💫 Well it’s been a little while!! I’ve been as busy as ever here at HM HQ this last month but haven’t quite had it in me to keep up with the socials 🙈. But I’ve got at least 2 weddings every week for the next 3 months so there’s going to be a lot of content to get out there!!

I’ve also decided I will only be taking a very limited number of new orders until the start of September. Summer is looking extraordinarily busy already and I’d like to concentrate on giving my current clients the best service possible. Recently my admin has been slacking with me being so busy and it’s not how I want to run so I think this is the right decision for now! It’s a tough one to make but also for my own sanity!

Last month we went to another fab open day and I created this new little number which I am in love with - especially the colour and piping work!! Adorned with beautiful blooms from . It’s inspired by that gorgeous cake by . Let me know what you think?!

Falling leaves 🍃

A lot of green, white and gold on here recently! Thank you Daisy for entirely trusting me with this one! We were a little bit brave going for a fully green cake but I absolutely ADORE it and I think it really works for a green and white colour scheme (with a touch of gold glam of course), what do you think?! 👇🏼

Our Story

Hi, I’m Hannah, baker, maker and creator of Hannah Matilda. I have always had a passion for creating food and cakes that are both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. I am constantly inspired for new flavours and designs by what I see around me in nature and the changing seasons.

I started my career in the food and catering industry as a pastry chef in London where I developed my skill and love for cakes and patisserie. After reaching the finals of the Cordon Bleu Patisserie Scholarship Award in London I pursued my ambition of starting my own company and have a wide range of experience from working as a chef in private households to busy London restaurants and organic artisanal bakeries.

I moved to Manchester in 2018 where I now run Hannah Matilda, providing outstanding cakes to my wonderful clients as well as bespoke catering for private events, celebrations, press launches and more in and around Manchester and Cheshire.
