Moody Baker, Alston We are a Workers' Co-Op who bake breads, pastries, pies, cakes, biscuits and sweet things using organic or locally sourced materials whenever possible.

We are an artisan bakery co-operative based in Alston, high in the North Pennine hills. Since 2002 we have made it our mission to create handmade quality, healthy food from the finest ingredients. We are also very experienced at catering for those with special dietary requirements. We pride ourselves on using locally sourced, organic, or Fairtrade ingredients where possible. Our products are mainl

y vegetarian, but we offer a small, carefully selected range of meat products including our renowned Wolf pie – made with Allendale Brewery’s famous Wolf Ale. Our services include the following:
• Vegetarian pies, pasties, wraps, pizzas, quiches
• Locally sourced meat products
• Local food produce markets

We are happy to provide individually tailored quality food for your function on request. The Moody Baker runs as a workers' co-operative, which means that all the working members are encouraged to have a say in how the bakery and shop are run. The team consists of a small dedicated group of people. Although some members have been involved with the bakery since it first opened in 2002, we have new members coming on board every year.
