Fishing Report

Although anglers got wet in the last week it never stopped them catching fish. Fish have still been smashing Dries off the top of the water. Others caught fish using Nymphs just sub surface. Anglers also reported fish feeding just off the w**d beds.


· Barry Nicholson fished Dries on Long Crag safely returning 18 fish
· Ken Glenton netted 18 fish using Cdcs over both lakes
· Simon Sharpe fished Dries and Nymphs over both lakes catching 12 fish
· R. Lee returned 7 fish on Long Crag using various flies
· John Jarvis fished a mix of Dries over both lakes safely netting 9 fish
· Matty Devine caught 9 fish on Long Crag using Buzzers and Worms

Fishing Report


Anglers over the last week have changed tactics completely to catch fish, with most anglers having to fish deeper to temp fish. With the bright sun and warm weather anglers reported hitting fish at around 6 feet deep using Damsels and Eggs. Others have still tempted fish using Dries on the top but they reported fish were feeding on small fly life.

· H. Pringle fished under an indicator over both lakes safely returning 15 fish
· Mick Hall netted 8 fish on Long Crag using Dries
· Alec Harvey fished various patterns over both lakes catching 7 fish
· Ken Glenton returned 8 fish on Long Crag using Dries
· M. Rackham fished a Fry pattern on Coe Crag landing 7 fish
· Geoff Huscroft caught 8 fish on Long Crag using Damsels

Fishing Report


Over the last week, anglers have had great success catching fish using dries and nymphs. As the weather warmed up over the weekend, many anglers noticed that the smaller the fly, the more interest it attracted from the fish

· Mick Hall fished Dries on Long Crag netting 15 fish
· Dean Hedley fished both lakes using Dries catching 15 fish
· Simon Sharpe landed 20 fish using Dries and Nymphs on Long Crag
· J. Reeder netted 12 fish over both lakes using Shipmans and Cdcs
· Kev Laws caught 12 fish using Shipmans on Long Crag
· D. Murray fished Cdcs over both lakes netting 16 fish
· John Jarvis landed 14 fish over a couple of visits fishing both lakes
· Matty Devine fished Dries on Long Crag returning 17 fish
· Geoff Huscroft returned 12 fish using Dries and Lures over both lakes
· David Todd landed 11 fish over both lakes using Dries and Nymphs
· Ken Glenton netted 16 fish over both lakes using Dries and Buzzers

Over the weekend we had 7 cygnets hatch on Long Crag, could all Anglers please discard their leader and rubbish in the bins provided to avoid any disruption to the wildlife around the lakes.

Fishing Report

Cdcs have really stood out this week in the catch returns with most anglers landing fish using them, other anglers have reported Buzzers and small nymphs have also been working very well.

🎣 Crag End bait lake is being fully stocked and will be ready for the school holidays next week!


· I. Robinson caught 7 fish on Coe Crag fishing various flies
· J. Nicholson also fished various flies on Coe Crag returning 13 fish
· D. Milligan fished Green Eggs and Fabs on Long Crag netting 8 fish
· H. Pringle fished Shammys over both lakes catching 10 fish
· Ken Glenton landed 21 fish on Coe Crag using Dries and Buzzers
· Ray Wilson netted 10 fish using small black flies over both lakes
· Matty Devine fished Lures and Nymphs on Long Crag safely returning 44 fish over 2 visits
· Geoff Huscroft netted 7 fish on Long Crag using Dries
· Simon Sharpe fished Dries on Long Crag releasing 15 fish
· Stu Griffiths caught 8 fish over both lakes using Beetles

Fishing Report

Anglers over the last week have reported some line- ripping takes using Buzzers. Many others have found Dries to be more productive over both lakes. Anglers mixed the size of there Dries finding a bit more interest using smaller hooks.

· Kev Laws landed 11 fish on Long Crag using Cdcs
· Matty Devine caught 16 fish on Long Crag fishing Nymphs and Buzzers
· Jim Smith fished Buzzers and Top Hats on Long Crag safely returning 8 fish
· Rodney Burn netted 7 fish on Long Crag using Buzzers and Blobs
· Simon Sharpe fished Dries and Nymphs over both lakes catching 9 fish
· Tony Rowley landed 6 fish using Beetles on Long Crag
· L. Blaylock fished Apps Worms on Coe Crag catching 8 fish
· Davy Parker caught 16 fish on Long Crag using Dries
· Mick Hall netted 20 fish over both lakes using Cdcs
