After Halloween and All Saints Day comes All Souls Day.
I made my first ever soul cakes. Slightly spiced biscuits with currants and little crosses cut across the top. When children went ‘soulling’ the soul cakes were exchanged for prayers for the dead.

Hello, I am Susan Chown , an Independent Civil Celebrant , based in Alloa but willing to travel. I facilitate Funeral Services, Weddings, Baby Namings, Renewal of Vows and Pet Memorial Services. I am dedicated to giving families the ceremony they want, whatever their beliefs. I am not a humanist and this gives real flexibility to what goes into the ceremonies. There really are no barriers to you having what you want. I have years of performing experience and can deliver you service with flair and professionalism. I am an empathetic listener and work hard to create services that truly reflect the people that they are for or about.
