Mad old weekend but undoubtedly the highest highlight was this outrageously stunning Twilight birthday cake made by Kelly Hacker for .mcr92. Layers of spiced sponge with apple pie style filling and vanilla buttercream. Edible Eggwards. Hold on tight spider monkey!

Hello ya bunch o' ghouls and goblins- here's tomorrow's menu. Got a spicy hot sourdough full of habaneros and sun dried tomatoes, kept some of the seeds in a couple of the chillies so I suspect it's going to have a bit of a kick to it and that will be delicious unless yr not into spicy bread. Either way please make sure you read the label so you know what to expect, and don't go bananas at us if you get scared. Another sourdough full of roast pumpkin.
Focaccia full of black garlic that'll get finished with truffle oil and a mint infused sea salt, it'll be savoury and rich as anything. Probably too fancy for a daft bakery like us. Another focaccia packed with blueberries and thyme, a delicious combo that you shouldn't fear.
Sweet treats are very perfect for this time of year. Pumpkin pie that got absolutely everyone's engines revving last weekend and for good reason. Cookies full of Jim Beam and hickory smoke and maple syrup and toasted pecans. Pumpkin spice knots with our own special pumpkin spice mix that is technically better than anyone else's.
Of course there'll be world famous cinnamon buns, don't question their global prowess. It's just a fact and you don't need to worry about it. Absolutely adorable wee shortbread skeleton folk and mini Mexican hot chocolate donuts if you want just a wee treat with yr coffee.
Ok, there's more but it's all there for you to read yrself, you don't need me to go over every detail like a clever detective. Looking forward to seeing everyone (I mean, I won't cause I'll be hidden away from the public in my bakery dungeon but that's for the best).

DUNKIN' DONUTS. Mexican hot chocolate donut- we're talking choco, cinnamon, chilli, sugar- sweet and that hint of heat that makes you happy. And a cortado, my personal favourite coffee and it's fun cause it's a wee donut and a wee coffee. You can enjoy them together and feel like yr 9 foot tall, all Yeti and s**t. Just in case anyone gets rowdy thinking this was a silly waste of food it wasn't so pump the brakes on yr complaint mobile, I ate that donut and coffee.
Open 9 to 4, 7 days a week except when we sell our early and it feels silly to stay open for the last few minutes of tumble weeds and crickets chirping.

PECAN PIE COOKIES. This week's cookie is a pecan pie number- built on a solid, rich base of Jim Beam bourbon, hickory smoke, maple syrup and Vanilla Guys vanilla. Stacked up with toasted pecans, oats and rye flour and finished perfectly with a Ritz crackers and digestive biscuits pie crust.

Do you have Sunday plans? I mean, genuinely absolutely none of my business- I was just going to suggest that coffee and a cinnamon bun might be nice and we just so happen to have an abundance of both.
I've been listening to an audiobook about U.S. presidents, each chapter is a different one. And this morning I learned all about Warren Harding and apparently his legacy as being the ho****st president hahaha. Imagine sitting there in whatever afterlife presidents go to and someone like mad ol' Nixon shows up and yr all like "yo, what was my legacy after I passed away?" And yr told the only thing folk remember you for is being a randy ol' president. Gee whiz.

Alright ya bunch o' horrid ghouls, here's a menu so fantastic it'll make you think the earth is flat (it is, looks it up). I left the bakery toot sweet today and have a massive fear that I've forgotten things that should be on the menu so, a) hopefully not and b) keep an eye on stories tomorrow for any mystery items.
For bread we've got a sourdough full of dehydrated red skin apple pieces that I covered in Tubby Tom maple bacon seasoning, the apple should rehydrate a touch in the dough and get all chewy and fun and with that seasoning make for a bread that's kinda like fancy sausages but without any bits of beautiful beasts smashed up in it. We've also got a sourdough that's got a bunch of jazz in it that is inspired by the flavours of chorizo- smoked paprika, smoked fennel seeds, tomato, garlic, etc. the dough smelled incredible so I think this'll be a winner.
Focaccia with lots of onions that'll get all roasty and jammy in the oven and we'll give it the old how do you do with some chipotle hot sauce once baked.
Good news- we've got more pumpkin pie 🎃 had several thousand people asking for and also complimenting the pie last week so fu**in' let's goooooooo. Pumpkin spice knots have been a hit this week but that makes sense cause they're delicious innit- buttery brown sugar filling packed full of our own special pumpkin spice mix. Keeping the heady autumn vibes train rolling down the tracks is a sticky gingerbread cake.
Not so autumnal but still delicious strawberries and white chocolate cookies. Classic croissants, p.a.choc with ridiculously gorgeous salted single origin dark chocolate from Bare Bones Chocolate.
And probably the most fun- shortbread skeleton folk are back! Remember how adorable they were last year? Ya hoo. Made with a dash of activated charcoal so just be aware if you think that might mess with yr medicine (and it will give you spooky dookie syndrome).
Best coffee this side of the Mississippi, 4 different flavours of crisps, Palestinian olive oil and dates, best bakery merch on the market, etc. etc. see you tomorrow champs!!!!!

Pumpkin spice knots- world famous bun dough twisted and turned all around an autumnally delicious brown sugar and vegan butter and toasted pumpkin seeds filling packed full of a pumpkin spice mix we make ourselves (so it's actually full of all kinds of a fall flavours feast and not just cinnamon with a merest whiff of a ghosts parp of spice). Finished up nicely with a brush of p.spice syrup and more toasted pumpkin seeds. I think if you could capture and compress autumn all down into one baked delight it's this 🍂🍂🍂🍂🎃🎃🎃🎃
Also regarding the issue of pumpkin spice- as renowned author Chuck Tingle says with their latest work, (THIS PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE GETS ME OFF IN A FUN AND SINCERE WAY)
it's ok for people to enjoy things without being shamed for their perceived "basicness" of their beverage choices 🎃🎃🎃🎃🍂🍂🍂🍂

I often want to share pictures of the croissants and chocolate croissants cause I feel jolly proud of them but I have very little training or experience making them so I get mad nervous that what I think is a heavenly beautiful work of art will, in fact, cause some 20 year+ pastry veteran to be all "what a pathetic trollop thinking he can gallop with the big boys, he's clearly proved them at 32% f.r.w. for 9 hours when even a fool knows you need 4/5th 44% f.r.w". But then that's stupid, if it's the best I can make then it's the best in the world and it's just that simple. Anyway, Kelly does all the heavy lifting- she made that stunning dough.
Made with Bare Bones Chocolate single origin Dominican Republic salted dark chocolate and finished post bake with Vanilla Guys vanilla syrup, a tiny sprinkle of Blackthorn Scottish Sea Salt Scottish sea salt and then a little dusting of more of that Bare Bones chocolate. Crisp and perfect buttery vegan laminated dough rolled and chilled and folded and carefully cared for for days.

damn fine coffee and an apple and ginger bun 🎃 imagine if Taylor Swift released another version of that album of hers and it was the anteater edition and there was 4 new songs all about eating ants, the 4 part ant eating suite and the vinyl edition was a disc full of ants and she was all "oh uh huh hubby's fav animal at the zoo is anteaters"
