One year ago… Tamsin & David 🤍

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary to Tamsin and David, who celebrated their beautiful wedding on 23rd August 2025.

I remember them as such a wonderfully fuss-free couple. They knew what they liked, trusted the process, and simply allowed me to create, which made designing their wedding cake an absolute pleasure.

Their cake was a celebration of understated elegance with a touch of the outdoors: warm wood and birch textures, soft peach and blush florals and beautiful natural details coming together in a design that felt perfectly at home in its surroundings.

A whole year has passed already!

HELLO & WELCOME!

I’ve noticed quite a few new faces here recently, so I thought it was a good time to introduce myself again.

My name is Abimbola, the cake designer and creative behind Dimbim Speciality Cakes, based in Aberdeen, Scotland.

What started from a love of baking over two decades ago has grown into a business that allows me to do something I truly love, creating beautiful, bespoke wedding cakes and being part of some of life’s most special celebrations.

For me, a wedding cake is so much more than something beautiful to look at. It should reflect you, your personalities, your story and the atmosphere you want to create for your wedding day.
And of course, it should taste every bit as wonderful as it looks.

I love beautiful details, elegant finishes, colour, texture and especially creating sugar flowers.

But above all, I value giving my couples a personal and enjoyable experience from their first enquiry right through to seeing their cake beautifully set up on their wedding day.

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary, April & Joshua.
Wishing you many more wonderful years together.

This wedding cake was inspired by the bride herself.

One year ago, I had the pleasure of creating this elegant wedding cake for April & Joshua.

At first glance, it may look like a classic lace wedding cake, but there is a very special story behind the detailing.

The intricate lace pattern was created using bespoke stencils specially made to replicate the beautiful lace on April’s wedding dress.

From the delicate lacework covering each tier to their intertwined A & J monogram, every detail was designed to make the cake uniquely theirs.

I have always loved incorporating personal elements into my wedding cakes. Details that connect the cake to the couple and their wedding day rather than simply creating something beautiful.

And a year later, this remains one of those designs I absolutely love.

Your wedding cake can be more than a centrepiece. It can tell a little part of your story.

Happy (belated) First Wedding Anniversary to this wonderful couple, Sarah and Matthew.

One year ago, on 3rd August 2025, while Storm Floris swept through Aberdeen with all its strength, nothing could overshadow the joy, love, and commitment you shared as you said, “I do.”

Some weddings are remembered for the sunshine, but yours will always be remembered for proving that even the fiercest storm couldn’t compete with the warmth of your love and the happiness that filled the day.

It was an absolute honour to create your wedding cake and to play a small part in such a memorable celebration.

Congratulations to a very special couple who fell in love with my creations even before meeting me.

Hailey and Craig’s wedding cake was a case of:
When every detail speaks the same language.

For Hailey & Craig, the vision was beautifully simple: White Elegance. No flowers, no elaborate embellishments, just timeless sophistication with delicate pearl detailing.

Every accent was chosen with intention. The deep brown ribbon echoed the bridesmaids’ dresses, while the gold monogram complemented the elegant gold place settings, creating a design that blended effortlessly with the overall styling.

Hailey and Craig are my neighbours here in Westhill. Although they had known about my work online for some time, we officially met at a wedding exhibition. It was a real pleasure to create a cake that reflected not only their style, but also the atmosphere they wanted their guests to experience.

Sometimes, luxury isn’t about adding more, it’s about choosing the right details and allowing them to shine.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple, Kim and Gareth who were married at the .

Some wedding cakes begin with an enquiry.

This one began with a slice of cake.

I first met Gareth several years ago when we were both exhibiting as wedding suppliers at a mini wedding showcase, organised by .

Gareth, a wonderfully talented saxophonist and guitarist, was there helping couples create unforgettable celebrations through music, while I was introducing couples to my wedding cakes.

Like many visitors to my stand, Gareth sampled a few of my cake flavours… and I think it’s fair to say he became quite a fan!

Over the years, we’ve crossed paths at many wedding fairs and showcases across the North East. It always became a bit of a tradition that Gareth would make his way over to my stand to say hello and, of course, to see what cake samples I had brought along.

So, when it came time to plan his own wedding, it felt incredibly special that he chose me to create the cake for one of the most important days of his life.

For Gareth and his beautiful bride, this elegant two-tier design was the perfect choice. Proof that a thoughtfully designed two-tier cake can be every bit as striking as a larger creation, bringing together timeless elegance, delicate textures, fresh florals and personalised details.

It was an absolute privilege to be a small part of your special day. Thank you both for trusting me with your wedding cake, and congratulations once again.

Although I’m a little late, I couldn’t let the occasion pass without wishing Mhairi & Keith a very happy first wedding anniversary!

Just over a year ago, I had the absolute pleasure of creating this woodland-inspired wedding cake for their beautiful celebration at Logie Country House.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, the design combined the texture of birch bark and tree bark with handcrafted sugar peonies, roses, delicate blossoms and trailing foliage, creating a romantic woodland feel.

It is always an honour to create a centrepiece that becomes part of such treasured memories. Wishing Mhairi & Keith many more years filled with love, laughter and happiness together.

As Scotland takes to the world stage, I couldn’t resist looking back at some of the tartan-inspired wedding cakes I’ve had the pleasure of creating over the years.

From hand-finished tartan tiers and woodland textures to Highland-inspired details and elegant Scottish touches, these designs celebrate the beauty, heritage and character that make Scotland so special.
