A delicious weekend awaits at Dimbim Speciality Cakes.

This week in the studio, I’m preparing for two lovely opportunities to help you discover your wedding cake.

SATURDAY — CAKE TASTER BOXES

Choosing your wedding cake should taste as wonderful as it looks. Our taster boxes give you the opportunity to enjoy a selection of our cake flavours in the comfort of your own home, taking your time to savour each slice and discover your favourites.

Make an occasion of it: put the kettle on, sit down with your partner and enjoy a little wedding planning over cake. From the texture of the sponge to the fillings that complement each flavour, this is your chance to experience the care that goes into every Dimbim cake.

Taster boxes will be available this Saturday, 24 October. Send me a message for the details and to reserve yours.

IF AUTUMN WERE A WEDDING CAKE… THIS WOULD BE HER MOMENT.

Bold. Romantic. Unapologetically beautiful.

There is something magical about autumn. Nature puts on its most spectacular display, painting the landscape in rich burnt oranges, deep burgundies, warm golds and earthy tones.

And what better inspiration for a wedding cake?

This design is my interpretation of autumn in all its splendour.

From the rich, textured burnt-orange tier to the warmth of metallic gold, delicate patterned detailing and dramatic arrangements florals, every element brings a little of autumn’s beauty into the design.

I particularly love the contrast between the clean, contemporary effect and the organic movement of the flowers and foliage.

A celebration of colour, texture and the beauty of the changing seasons.

Because luxury wedding cakes don’t always have to be white, understated or traditional.

Sometimes, allowing colour to take centre stage creates something truly extraordinary.

WHITE ELEGANCE: Where simplicity makes the statement!

There’s something quite special about receiving the professional photographs after a wedding and seeing your work through the photographer’s lens.

For this wedding, the brief was white elegance and no flowers on the cake.

So rather than relying on florals to create impact, the design was all about height, texture and carefully considered details.

Four tall white tiers, each with its own subtle finish, personalised with the couple’s gold monogram and completed with that beautiful deep brown bow — an unexpected contrast that gave the whole design its character.

I particularly love how the different textures add interest while allowing the cake to remain beautifully understated.

A reminder that a wedding cake doesn’t always need flowers or lots of colour to make an impact.

Sometimes, white, texture and one beautiful statement detail are more than enough.

Autumn elegance for Rachael & Jamie!
Congratulations on your beautiful wedding😍

A beautiful celebration of autumn for the wonderfully fuss-free Rachael & Jamie.

This wedding cake is also a lovely reminder that beauty isn’t measured by the number of tiers.

A two-tier wedding cake can have incredible presence when the proportions, textures and details come together beautifully.

These tall, elegant tiers created the perfect canvas for a cascade of rich autumnal florals, berries and dried oranges in gorgeous shades of burnt orange, golden yellow and deep burgundy.

And there was something else rather special about this cake…

It was completely vegan.

From the cake itself to the deliciously smooth buttercream finish, everything was created without compromise on flavour, beauty or elegance.

Sometimes, two tiers are all you need to make a statement.

Rachael & Jamie, huge congratulations to you both. Thank you for choosing and trusting me to create your wedding cake and to be a small part of such a special day.

Hello October!!!

A new month, a beautiful new season and one of my favourite times of year for wedding cake inspiration.

I created this autumn wedding cake quite some time ago, but looking back at it today, I’m reminded of just how timeless seasonal design can be.

Rich autumnal shades, handcrafted sugar flowers and leaves, natural bark textures and warm woodland details all came together in a design inspired by the beauty of the season.

And now that October has arrived, it feels like the perfect cake to welcome it with.

This month is also a particularly exciting one for Dimbim Speciality Cakes, with two opportunities to come and meet me:

- 11 October — Glen Tanar Autumn Wedding Open Day
- 25 October — Chester Hotel Autumn Wedding Exhibition

And to finish the month, my Wedding Cake Taster Boxes will be available on 31 October.

Autumn offers such a beautiful palette to work with, from warm terracotta and burnt orange to burgundy, berry tones, soft neutrals and touches of gold.

One year ago… Tamsin & David 🤍

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary to Tamsin and David, who celebrated their beautiful wedding on 23rd August 2025.

I remember them as such a wonderfully fuss-free couple. They knew what they liked, trusted the process, and simply allowed me to create, which made designing their wedding cake an absolute pleasure.

Their cake was a celebration of understated elegance with a touch of the outdoors: warm wood and birch textures, soft peach and blush florals and beautiful natural details coming together in a design that felt perfectly at home in its surroundings.

A whole year has passed already!

Wishing you both a very happy first anniversary and many more wonderful years of love, laughter and happiness together.

HELLO & WELCOME!

I’ve noticed quite a few new faces here recently, so I thought it was a good time to introduce myself again.

My name is Abimbola, the cake designer and creative behind Dimbim Speciality Cakes, based in Aberdeen, Scotland.

What started from a love of baking over two decades ago has grown into a business that allows me to do something I truly love, creating beautiful, bespoke wedding cakes and being part of some of life’s most special celebrations.

For me, a wedding cake is so much more than something beautiful to look at. It should reflect you, your personalities, your story and the atmosphere you want to create for your wedding day.
And of course, it should taste every bit as wonderful as it looks.

I love beautiful details, elegant finishes, colour, texture and especially creating sugar flowers.

But above all, I value giving my couples a personal and enjoyable experience from their first enquiry right through to seeing their cake beautifully set up on their wedding day.

So, whether you’ve been following me for years or you’ve only just discovered my little corner of Instagram, welcome!.

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary, April & Joshua.
Wishing you many more wonderful years together.

This wedding cake was inspired by the bride herself.

One year ago, I had the pleasure of creating this elegant wedding cake for April & Joshua.

At first glance, it may look like a classic lace wedding cake, but there is a very special story behind the detailing.

The intricate lace pattern was created using bespoke stencils specially made to replicate the beautiful lace on April’s wedding dress.

From the delicate lacework covering each tier to their intertwined A & J monogram, every detail was designed to make the cake uniquely theirs.

I have always loved incorporating personal elements into my wedding cakes. Details that connect the cake to the couple and their wedding day rather than simply creating something beautiful.

And a year later, this remains one of those designs I absolutely love.

Your wedding cake can be more than a centrepiece. It can tell a little part of your story.
