My red bean mooncake with salted egg yolk ✨ It is supposed to be the highlight for the end of this month, in celebration of Chinese New Year, but you all are very enthusiastic of my coming back 🥺 so I guess there won’t be plenty of time for me to prepare these mooncakes in pretty hampers for this week.

I’ve tried some of these back in Jakarta, so I chose red bean to be the fillings and adjusted the recipe according to my taste. Honestly I’m not a fan of salted egg yolks, but I know the yolks gave a deep meaning to this mooncake. I’ll give a hint - it’s going to be sweet and savory in the mouth.

The classic black forest cake! As you’ve seen on my post last year, I’d describe this cake like cherry picking in a chocolate forest while it snows 🍒

It’s basically a chocolate cake with cherries, whipped cream and barks of chocolate - it would be everybody’s favorite. One cake for all.

The original version contains liquor that soaks every layer of this chocolate cake. Between the layers are whipped cream and cherries. A perfect balance in one spoon.

Upon customer’s request, this is a non-alcoholic Black Forest cake. You can ask if you want a smooth or even a strong liquor-taste in this cake. You decide 😌

I was often asked, « Do you have a new cake I have not yet tasted? »

So maybe I should release a new cake every month? (every week is imposibble 😆)

“Martabak Cake” is quite a hit in Indonesia, so I decided to make one with my own tastebuds. Inspired by the real “Martabak”, my martabak cake is a two-layered “bolu jadul” with vanilla buttercream (the real martabak uses lotssss and lots of butter so the cake version uses buttercream) and martabak toppings: cheese (yes, Indonesian Kraft Cheese!, Indonesian meises, and crunchy nougat!

A spoon of this cake may not remind you of the real martabak, but it is deliciousss and it sure is inspired by martabak.

Boba Cheese Tea Cake! Who’s a fan of boba drinks? Well I am 🙋🏻‍♀️ This time, I turned my favorite drink into a cake 😌 This is a three-layered black tea cake with cream cheese frosting and boba on top! A drizzle of brown sugar sauce isn’t needed ‘cause it’s already sweet enough. Anyway, I wanted to make a scrumptious cream cheese sauce on top before that will spill all over but I thought it would be really messy 🙃 So here it is, my boba cheese tea cake 🥤

I’ve been wanting to make this cake for a looong time, and finally, here’s my “Es Teler Cake”. Amongst all Indonesian shaved-ices, Es Teler is my favorite, there you’ll find coconut, avocado, jackfruit and lots of condensed milk.

My cake version of Es Teler, is a three-layered pandan cake, with coconut cream, and chunks of those three fruits: coconut, avocado and jackfruit. I am a fan. 🥑 🥥 🍋

(This cake is best served cold)
