This feels a little vulnerable to share...

I've just launched a new YouTube channel: Villa Bumblebee, A Life made from Scratch 🌿

Many of you have followed along with the bread, the kombucha, and the behind-the-scenes life of Bumblebee Bakery over the years. This new channel is a chance for me to share a little more of what sits underneath all of that — simple living, slowing down, seasonal rhythms, meaningful work, and the lessons I am learning along the way.

Hot water bottles are life savers! As I grew up in beautiful old houses, one of them being built in the 14th century, I have been taking hot water bottles to bed since I was a little girl. We called them "Gluckermaus" which can be translated to "Gurglemouse" (which doesn't quite do it justice). While I am having my bedtime read, my hottie rotates around my body. It starts in my back in the area of my kidneys, then warms my legs for a while and then ends up on my belly, or, to be precise, my belly ends up on the hot water bottle, as I fall asleep on my tummy.
When travelling and there is just the slightest possibility of chilly nights, Gurglemouse goes straight in the luggage and I know that I will have a safe, warm, relaxed night.
I even have three spare ones in my linen cupboard so I can offer them to guests and my children when they come home.
In the shops, those hotties often come with synthetic fabric cover which I simply can't deal with. So off it comes and gets replaced with a self sewn pure wool cover with a little bit of extra love.
I just made two more as I know that the world needs more love than ever. Let me know if you want one. They are $35 each.
There is nothing better than crawling into a crisp bed and being welcomed by a hot hottie.
Especially for single women 😃!
