🍪 Soft Gingerbread Cookies 🍪
📋 Ingredients:
🧈 1/2 cup butter, softened
🍬 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
🍯 3 tablespoons molasses
🥚 1 large egg, room temperature
🍦 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
🍚 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
🥄 1 teaspoon baking soda
🍂 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
🌿 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
🌰 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
🧂 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
📝 Instructions:
1️⃣ In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and sea salt. Set aside. 🍚🌿
2️⃣ Cream together the butter and brown sugar for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy. 🧈🍬
3️⃣ Add molasses, egg, and vanilla. Beat until smooth (about 60-90 seconds). 🍯🥚
4️⃣ Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined. 🍚
5️⃣ Transfer the dough to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. 🕒
6️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 🔥
7️⃣ Scoop out 1.5-2 tablespoon portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. 🍪
8️⃣ Bake for 9-11 minutes until the tops are just set. 🍪
9️⃣ Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool. 🍽️
🔟 Optional: Prepare a glaze by whisking powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over cooled cookies. Let the glaze harden before serving. 🍶
