PARIS CAFÉ & BAKERY HOPPING DIARY 🇫🇷
Last week, we took a little trip to Paris during our holiday break. A few days away from the kitchen, wandering through the city, and of course, visiting as many cafés and bakeries as we could
We came back with so many lovely memories, a camera full of photos, and a list of places we’re still thinking about
We thought we’d share a little diary of our trip, starting with some of our favourite cafés and bakeries along the way. The ones we loved for their pastries, coffee, their atmosphere, or simply the little moments we got to spend there
So here’s a little piece of Paris through our eyes. We hope you enjoy following along 🤍
We had an absolutely amazing first breakfast at 🥖 CHAMBOULE - Boulangerie gourmande 📍Paris 18ème , which set the bar so high for the rest of our trip!
Their baguette and viennoiseries were everything we hoped for. Beautifully crisp crusts, flaky layers on the outside, and soft, moist centres.
Our first café destination was Tanat following European Coffee Trip guide.
The cafe is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a clean, modern interior that felt both minimal and welcoming. We tried Yunyun Nannan Blue Iris from China as a pour over, and it was such a beautifully balanced cup.
The first thing that stood out was its gentle floral, fragrant aroma. The cup felt smooth with a depth of sweetness, balanced by a lively but delicate acidity. Definitely one of our favourite cups from the trip ☕️
They offer a wide selection of beans to choose from, and what made the visit even better was the team! Everyone was so attentive and helpful, taking the time to walk us through the different coffees and their flavour profiles.
Whether you already know what you’re looking for or are simply curious to try something new, they’ll help you find a bean that suits your taste.
PONTOCHOUX CAFÉ was another place we were excited to visit. It’s known for its beautifully crafted plated desserts by chef Akira Takahashi, bringing a little of the fine dining pastry experience into a casual café setting. Each dessert feels so thoughtfully composed, with an interesting balance of flavours and textures.
We tried two desserts, and b
