Ensi viikon maanantaina lähdetään käymään uudelleen Keniassa. Laitetaan aktiivisesti stooriin matskua matkan varrelta, joten muista seurata stooria.

Otetaan myös livelähetyksiä (Instagram) mikäli mahdollista, jossa voitte kysyä lennosta asioita suoraan tuottajalta. Reissussa kaikki on mahdollista ja mikään ei ole täysin varmaa.

Lähetettiin Panimo Himolle cascaraa (kahvin hedelmälihaa) ja kehotettiin niitä tekemään olut, jossa sitä on käytetty ja tässä on lopputulos!
Tulkaa Vilja B**r Festille maistelemaan Panimo Himon spotille 13.8. - 15.8.

We sent Panimo Himo some cascara (the dried coffee cherry) and encouraged them to brew a b**r using it — and here’s the result!
Come taste it at Vilja B**r Fest at Panimo Himo’s spot, 13–15 August.

Kahwesanko, mikä se on?

Kahvipusseista syntyy paljon turhaa jätettä. Varsinkin meidän isoimmilla yritysasiakkailla, joiden kulutus on kuukaudessa 100-200kg/kk luokkaa. Jos kaikki pakattaisiin pusseihin niin määrä on todella suuri. Käytännössä p***i avataan, kahvit kaadetaan koneeseen ja roskiin.

Ollaan kesä testailtu yritysasiakkaiden kanssa Kahwesankoa. Tämä toimintamalli on vähentänyt jätteen määrää sadoilla pusseilla ja vuositasolla vaikutus tulee olemaan tuhansissa pusseissa.

Toteutus on simppeli. Me viedään sangot yrityksen tiloihin, haetaan käytetyt pois ja hoidetaan niiden puhdistus.

A lot of unnecessary waste is created from coffee bags — especially for our largest corporate clients whose monthly consumption is around 100–200 kg. If everything were packed in bags, the amount would be enormous. In practice, the bag is opened, the coffee is poured into the machine, and the bag goes straight to the trash.

Throughout the summer, we’ve been testing the Kahwesanko with our corporate customers. This model has already reduced waste by hundreds of bags, and on an annual level the impact will be in the thousands.

The process is simple: we deliver the buckets to the company’s premises, collect the used ones, and take care of cleaning them.

Kuten osa on saattanut jo havaita meidän kahvia menevän useaan kauppaan Pirkanmaalla ja kohta myös Etelä-Suomeen. Se ei kuitenkaan tavoita vielä kovin suurta määrää ihmisiä ja me halutaan kuitenkin, että sä saisit kahvia helpommin ruoka-ostosten yhteydessä. Jos haluat palkitun pienpaahtimon kahvia siihen sun kauppaan niin laita kauppiaalle toivomus "Saisko Kahwetta valikoimiin?".

Täällä meillä päin rakennetaan uutta ratikkareittiä kovaa vauhtia. Ei tarvi kun katsoa ikkunasta ulos, niin kaikenlaiset koneet jyristelee ja duunarit raataa. Onhan se hyvä, että kaupunkia kehitetään, m***a kyllähän se sotkee liikennejärjestelyt. Autoilu vaikeutuu, liikenne ruuhkautuu ja julkisen liikenteen reitit menee uusiksi.

Ja sehän vaikuttaa suoraan paahtimon saavutettavuuteen — tänne on nyt vähän hankalampi tulla. Siksi ajateltiin helpottaa kahwelaisten kahvin saantia alekoodilla! Sinne on muuten lisätty uusi kahvi. Anaerobisesti fermentoitu natural kahvi Ruandasta!

Around here they’re building a new tram line at full speed. You only need to look out the window to see all kinds of machines rumbling around and workers grinding away. It’s great that the city is developing, but it definitely messes with the traffic. Driving gets harder, traffic jams pop up everywhere, and public transport routes keep changing.

Hetki sitten julkaistiin kauppoihin suunnattu neljän kahvin MAD Sarja:

Sarjan kaksi kahvia menestyi heti Helsinki Coffee Festivaaleilla.

Viimeksi oltiin Helsinki Coffee Festivaaleilla 2023, jolloin pärjättiin myös Vuoden Kofeiiniton Suodatinkahvi kilpailussa samaisella toisella sijalla. Nyt uudestaan pitkän tauon jälkeen festareille palkintoja hakemaan.

Me siis sijoituttiin Vuoden Suodatinkahvi kilpailussa toiselle sijalle ja sama sijoitus tuli myös Vuoden Kofeiiniton Suodatinkahvi killpailussa! Hienoa olla taas festareilla :)

Mielenkiintoista tästä tekee sen, että juuri julkaistiin uusi MAD Sarja ja se saa heti ammattitason mainintoja.
