🍽️ SUNDAY LUNCHES ARE BACK AT PJ’S! 🍽️

With fingers crossed that these temperatures start to drop a little, we’re sure we’re not the only ones craving a proper Sunday lunch! 😋❤️

There’s nothing better than a good old-fashioned homemade Sunday roast, with fresh vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, plenty of gravy and your choice of:

🥩 Roast Beef
🐷 Roast Pork
🍗 Roast Chicken

Everything freshly prepared and cooked with plenty of love — just the way a Sunday roast should be!

And of course, there’s always room for something sweet afterwards! 🍰

We’ll have a changing selection of homemade desserts and sweet treats, including favourites such as raspberry & cherry scones, traditional scones with clotted cream and a selection of jams, lemon drizzle cake, hot cross buns, toasted teacakes and plenty more!

🍰 Our desserts will change regularly, so there’ll always be something delicious to tempt you with.

🌧️ IT’S RAINING IN MOJÁCAR! 🌧️

Well, look at that… Mojácar is looking a little grey today! ☁️🌧️

But let’s be honest — this rain is VERY much needed! After all the heat and humidity we’ve been having, I think we can all appreciate a bit of cooler, fresh weather. ❤️

And don’t let a bit of rain stop you from popping in for your PJ’s favourites! 🥧

As you know, most of them belong to residents of the local hotel — and apparently they’ve decided their cars are enjoying a two-week holiday of their own! 🤣

So if you can, double park them in! If someone needs to get out, they can always beep their horn…

Although, judging by the fact some of these cars haven’t moved in two weeks, I’m not holding my breath! 😂

It’s frustrating, but PLEASE don’t let the parking put you off coming to see us. ❤️

🥚 DID YOU KNOW? — THE SCOTCH EGG! 🥚

And no, it didn’t actually come from Scotland! 🇬🇧😉

The Scotch egg is believed to have originated in England, with Fortnum & Mason claiming they created the very first one in 1738, as a handy, portable meal for travellers heading west from London. 🚂🥚

There are a few theories about the name, including the old idea that it came from “scorching” or “scotching” the meat, although the true origin of the name is still debated!

What we do know is that nearly 300 years later, the humble Scotch egg is still going strong. ❤️

🥚😂 BUT WHY ARE THEY CALLED SCOTCH EGGS?! 😂🥚

A question we’ve been asking ourselves at PJ’s The Pie Shop…

They’re not Scottish. 🤔
They don’t wear kilts. 🏴
They don’t play the bagpipes. 🎶
And as far as we know, not one of them has ever been spotted drinking wh**ky! 🥃😂

So why Scotch eggs?!

Whatever the reason, one thing we DO know…

👉 A perfectly cooked egg
👉 Wrapped in proper British sausage meat
👉 Coated in crispy golden breadcrumbs
👉 And made with a little bit of PJ’s magic ❤️

…makes a good Scotch egg! 🇬🇧🥚
