Honey and Dough, the concept:
Honey and Dough’s Founder, Nermeen Ameen, found out that refined sugar, processed flour, and hydrogenated oils are the unhealthiest ingredients that most people consume in large quantities, and healthy alternatives are not easily found. In addition, the hidden ingredients such as chemicals, artificial flavors, preservatives, additives and colorings are pumped in most of the food we eat nowadays. Unfortunately, our children are the largest consumer of these products due to practicality and ease of preparation.
The above unhealthy ingredients are mainly found in baked goods such as bread, pizza, cookies and so forth. Accordingly, Nermeen decided to start up a bakery that offers healthy baked goods that are made of whole wheat, healthy seeds, natural fats, raw honey and molasses and free of all and any artificial or processed ingredients.
Honey and Dough, the ingredients:
It took our founder a full year of preparation to launch Honey and Dough. Our aim is to offer bakes that are loaded with nutrients instead of just stuffing our families’ tummies with empty calories. Regardless of the type of flour used in baking, most of our products are enriched with eggs, fresh milk, molasses, natural butters and oils. We also produce our signature line which is Whole Wheat Bakes, made with 100% whole wheat. This makes our bakes rich in natural proteins, fibers, vitamins and minerals.
Honey and Dough, the team:
Nermeen managed to bring together a team of the most qualified professionals in the bakery business to work with her for a full year on developing recipes and testing them. The most basic recipe for any product that we wanted to produce posed a major challenge. Why? The ingredients we are using are not the typical ones used in any bakery, accordingly, all the recipes had to be adjusted to match the new set of ingredients we are working with. No artificial additives or chemicals or preservatives are allowed in our products which makes it difficult to control the performance of the ingredients when mixed together let alone trying to bake them! But… We made it! We were able to come up with the most flavorful, healthy and delicious recipes that will transform the way you think about healthy food. Healthy food is sometimes perceived to be tasteless, but not in Honey and Dough!

Nermeen purchased the best equipment in the market to be able to produce the best quality products for her clients. Honey and Dough’s factory is very well equipped and follows a rigid system of hygienic procedures to ensure the cleanliness of its facility and staff in line with the highest industry standards.

We first launched Honey and Dough as an online sales service of fresh bakeries delivered daily to your doorstep.
Due to high demand, we decided to expand and move forward so that our products can be reachable by our customers whenever they need!
We currently have many points of sale mainly in Zayed like Seoudi market in both Zayed & Sodic branches.
We are also available in Goodsmart, one of the best online markets in Zayed! In addition to Sunny market in Zamalek and Westown Hub branches!
Our marketing plan also includes now special offers on delivery for all GatherUp Card’s holders, one of the most known platforms in Zayed Community.

About the Founder:
Honey and Dough’s founder, Nermeen Ameen, is a veteran Investment Banker and a CFA charterholder who had a very successful career in the investment field. In parallel, her health was not doing as well as her career despite exercising and having a lean body. She decided to find out what was she doing wrong through reading a lot about how to lead a healthy lifestyle until health became her passion and that’s when she decided to learn more.
She studied health coaching in The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach. She also studied in The Health Sciences Academy in the UK to become a Nutritional Therapist.
Then, she started practicing Health Coaching. Wow! What a career shift!
The Challenges of being healthy:
Throughout Nermeen’s journey as a Health Coach, her main challenge was to find healthy products made of clean ingredients that she can happily recommend to her clients and offer her family with a clear conscience. Her primary inspiration was her nieces and nephews who had their moms struggling to find them healthy foods but in vain.

Nermeen decided to make a major shift in the quality of bakeries found in the market by launching a bakery that offers bakes made with clean ingredients. She made her dream come true and launched Honey and Dough. Nermeen hopes to raise the awareness of consumers about healthy products and offer them a delicious and nutritious product mix.
