We are proud to invite you all to listen to the very first episode of the Be at Home in Denmark podcast about international life in Denmark. 🎧

The podcast is a Be Local ApS con amore project produced by Paul Zienicke and Susanne Stilling Frederiksen with the aim of giving a voice to internationals who have moved to Denmark and shining a light on the work they put into making Denmark their home.

Our first guest, Lisa Mende, has many interesting reflections on moving to another country as well as tips for making feeling at home in a new country and local area easier. Participating in cultural activities is a good way, she mentions. For Lisa and her family participating in activities at INSP , Roskilde Bibliotekerne, and Byens hus - Roskilde, and other places has given them a good start.

We are also launching the visual identity of the podcast. We are so happy that in a good process with illustrator Stephan Nielsen we found the image of the podcast.

To pull up one’s roots, to bring one’s past experiences to a new place, and to dig a new hole for one’s metaphorical roots and to grow from there is a big thing. We think Stephan Nielsen has captured this brilliantly in his illustration of the Be at Home in Denmark tree, which is now our mascot and logo for the podcast. 🌳 ✏️

Do you know expats or other international citizens who would like to start Danish courses or boost their level?
If so, please tell them that I can design individual courses which fit their level and learning style. I also teach about the good integration and help with networking and knowledge about the Danish digital infrastructure.
My courses are planned flexibly according to the wishes of the student. Courses can also be online.
