We've put this off for a while, but unfortunately the time has come for us to raise our prices in order to continue to stay in business and serve this wonderful, supportive community. As you all know, food costs have increased dramatically over the past year, and especially in the case of some of our key ingredients (our cream cheese costs have risen 71% since we opened less than 2 years ago!). We very much consider ourselves a neighborhood cafe and bagel shop and are so grateful for the support you’ve shown us since we opened in July 2021. We never thought that there would be more challenging circumstances than opening in the midst of a pandemic, and yet we find ourselves in the position where we absolutely must raise our prices in order to stay in business.
As many of you know, we make much of our menu from scratch. Our bagels are mixed and hand-rolled the day before they are boiled and baked by us all in-house and fresh every day. Our challah and rye breads are also made from scratch. We marinate our own turkey and aubergine, cure our own salmon, mix our own hummus and smoked trout salad. All of this takes a lot of time and labor (in addition to love!) and we’d like to continue to offer the same quality even if we can’t offer it at the same price as before.
We hope you understand and are happy to answer any questions you have about the new pricing.
Thank you all for your support!
