I started my baking journey four years ago by studying at the Berlin pastry school. While I was studying, I had a full time job for 3 three years as an apprentice in a vibrant pastry shop in Prenzlauer Berg. Although I come from a family of two generations of bakers and pastry chefs, my first studies were painting and history of art at the Athens school of fine arts. Since then I have been baking
with enthusiasm, curiosity, and an incurable sweet tooth. At the moment my main focus is vegan and wholesome bakes, which are inspired by traditional Greek pastry. I started developing my vegan sweets because my husband is vegan and what can I say... love goes through the stomach. Fun fact #1 : Greek orthodox religious fasting is vegan/ pescatarian. There is a rich variety of vegan sweets with citrus, olive oil, and nuts
Fun fact #2 : "Georgina's Pita" actually means Georgina's baked goods, since pitta/pita in contemporary Greek translates as cake or pie
