☀️ Sunshine, smiles, music, and community spirit. What a day at the NAIS Pudong Spring Fair 2026! 🌸

On Saturday, our campus came alive as families from across Shanghai gathered for one of the most joyful events of the year.

From incredible student solo and group performances to fairground games, the bouncy castle, science experiments, and Easter egg hunts, there was excitement around every corner. The energy on the field was truly unforgettable.

A huge congratulations to all of our student performers, who impressed the crowd with their confidence, creativity, and talent throughout the afternoon. From singing and piano performances to bands and choir showcases, you made the event extra special. 🎶

Of course, no Spring Fair would be complete without delicious food, water games, and plenty of laughter under perfect blue skies. We were incredibly lucky with the weather!

Thank you to every parent, student, vendor, and staff member who helped make the day such a success. Events like this remind us what makes NAIS Pudong so special: a warm, vibrant community that loves to come together and celebrate.

We are already looking forward to next year! 💙

Our next post takes us outdoors to one of the most loved spaces on campus: the NAIS Pudong Playing Fields.

A vibrant, green expanse at the heart of our school since we opened in 2002, our fields have been the location of countless moments of joy, energy and connection. From everyday play to competitive fixtures, from laughter-filled community events to whole-school celebrations, this is a space that has truly seen it all.

Students regularly take to the field for sports lessons and competitions, representing the school with pride. At its centre sits our cricket pitch, where we are proud to host matches, including fixtures with the Shanghai Cricket Club and Indian Association. It is a space that encourages teamwork, resilience and a love of being active outdoors.

Beyond sport, the Playing Fields bring our entire community together. From Bonfire Night to the Spring Fair, Highland Games to our Welcome Back Picnic, these open green spaces transform into places of celebration, connection and shared experience.

Surrounded by trees and filled with fresh air, the fields offer students something truly special: space to move, to play, to think and to grow. Time spent outdoors supports wellbeing, sparks creativity and allows children to experience the simple joy of being active in nature.

Whether it is a competitive match, a community event or a moment of play with friends, our Playing Fields are a place where memories are made every single day.

Stay tuned for more as we continue to showcase the spaces that bring our school community to life.

Our Girls Football team are Division 2 Champions 🏆🔥

After a long basketball season, the squad had barely any time to prepare. But from the very first match, they showed up with energy, resilience and real team spirit.

A special mention to captain Giselle (Year 13), whose now-iconic “¡Arriva, arriva!” became the team’s rallying cry, and occasionally a clever way to keep opponents guessing 😉

With a rock-solid defence and confident attacking play, the team delivered an outstanding run of results:
⚽ 3–1 vs Harrow
⚽ 5–2 vs Concordia
⚽ 7–1 vs Dulwich

More than the scorelines, this season was about growth, teamwork and enjoyment. The girls took risks, backed each other and created memories that will last well beyond the final whistle.

Now, they move up to Division 1 with confidence and curiosity for what comes next.

As Giselle reflected, what started as a small team just three years ago has grown into a strong, passionate group. A journey she is incredibly proud of, and rightly so.

Good luck next year, girls. This is only the beginning ⚽💙

How do we teach STEAM at NAIS Pudong? By following three simple but powerful rules:

🔹 Make it clear: Visual aids help all learners, especially our EAL students, build strong foundations.
🔹 Make it practical: Hands-on experiments with magnets, floating/sinking objects, circuits, and even decibel meters around our school.
🔹 Make it local: Learning from Shanghai’s development, ships on the Huangpu River, and birds right on our school field.

Real-world learning. Real-world skills. AI can’t teach these. 🌟

Our Year 1 students had a BLAST at the Shanghai Museum of Glass!

As part of our STEAM unit on materials, we took learning out of the classroom and into the real world, and it was so cool. We explored: is glass old or new? Turns out, it's been around for thousands of years, and it's still everywhere today!

Highlights included:
🎨 Making glass mosaics
🔍 A scavenger hunt in the children's museum
💬 Secret messages + codes hidden in glass
♻️ And the best part? Glass can be recycled forever! How amazing is that for our planet?

So proud of our curious, creative Year 1s. They explored, asked big questions, and had a total blast doing it!

IMP Recital: From beginner to spotlight. ✨

Recently, our students took the stage for the Term 2 IMP recital: a celebration of progress, courage, and the magic of one-to-one music lessons at NAIS Pudong.

Some started from absolute beginner level just months ago. But at the IMP recital, they played with focus, feeling, and most importantly, confidence.

We are so proud of every single performer. You showed us what happens when we nurture talent with patience, trust, and a little bit of melody.

Well done to all our performers!

On 9 April, our Senior School students took to the stage with Trap by Stephen Gregg, a bold and thought-provoking production that pushed the boundaries of dramatic theatre at NAIS Pudong.

Performing live is never easy, but our students rose to the moment with confidence and control. Their delivery was gripping from start to finish, drawing the audience into the tension and leaving everyone questioning what really happened that night.

We are incredibly proud of our cast and grateful to the teachers and backstage team whose dedication brought the production to life.

Now we invite you to step back into the spotlight and relive the performance through these images, celebrating the creativity, collaboration and shared experience that made it so memorable.

Well done to our Senior School students on this incredible production.

Our school is part of the global Nord Anglia Education family, and our collaboration with MIT gives students access to world-leading innovation and real-world problem solving.

Each year, NAIS Pudong students take part in the MIT Challenge, applying creativity, technology and critical thinking to tackle global issues. Winners are then invited to visit MIT in person, where they collaborate and learn from MIT Professors and industry experts.

This year, we are proud to celebrate Boxun and Sarah, our competition winners, who will travel to MIT in November:

👩‍⚕️ Sarah developed SanaVita, an advanced smartwatch that goes far beyond fitness tracking. It monitors vital signs, detects early health risks, and offers doctor-like guidance, all at no cost, supporting underserved communities with accessible healthcare.

🧠 Boxun created MIT-inspired smart vending machines to tackle the global obesity crisis. By replacing unhealthy snacks with nutritionist-approved options and using AI to deliver personalised guidance, his idea transforms everyday choices into healthier habits.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements. This is the power of our collaboration with MIT, turning ambitious ideas into meaningful impact.

Wishing Boxun and Sarah an inspiring and unforgettable journey at MIT 🌟

Last week, Mr Dyre, a special guest from The Juilliard School, visited NAIS Pudong to deliver engaging music and performance workshops to our students and staff.

After the workshops, we caught up with Mr. Dyre and asked him to share his valuable insights on the importance of learning music and musical instruments in university applications.

Universities are not only looking for technical excellence, but also for students who can contribute, collaborate, and grow within a community. These are qualities that admissions officers highly value, and something which can be fostered through music.

Watch our video to learn what Mr Dyre said.
