And the woman behind it all? Gertrud Dübi-Müller.

She knew artists before many of them became famous and, barely of age, acquired a Van Gogh that became the cornerstone of her extraordinary collection.

But what makes her story even more fascinating is the time she lived in. At a time when Swiss women could not vote federally, she was financially independent, drove her own Cabriolet, travelled across Europe, climbed the Matterhorn and built one of Switzerland’s most remarkable modern art collections.

It’s not just an exhibition about art. It’s a story about independence, ambition and a woman who refused to live by the expectations of her time.
