Welcome to Jackie’s Gourmet Sweets ! A Business Founded by Jacqueline Elcorrobarrutia. My Company Strives to bring authentic Latin Baked sweets to my Clients. I have always had a passion for cuisine, especially for desserts and sweets due to the heavy emphasis on these in my culture; eventually prompting me to take a culinary class in 2013. Also presently in school at Humber college taking Baking and arts management.
Growing up, my parents would always teach me the tradition of baking. I remember when my mami would always take the time to bake cakes and sweets with love for all of our family gatherings, such as weddings and birthdays; something I have decided to bring to my local business. Our extended family also inspired me to pursue my dreams. Visiting my grandparents house was always like a party; cooking and baking every day, non stop. Till this day my grandmother has moved in with us; we continue this tradition with lots of love.
During my last visit in Peru, my parents home country, I decided to take a baking course to learn just how to make authentic Latin desserts. It was such an amazing experience! After coming home to Canada I began sampling my cookies to everyone, friends, school teachers and coworkers. Every single person that has tried my cookies which are called Alfajores, have said the same thing; “They just melt in your Mouth!” I then branched of into baking fresh churros, and going so far as to bake and elaborately decorate cakes for special occasions.
