Tall Grass Prairie Bread Company is a family of from-scratch food establishments, all based on a single vision: bringing healthy, sustainable and delicious food to you and your family. We have two bakeries, one in Wolseley at 859 Westminster, and one inside the Forks Market in downtown Winnipeg. Grass Roots and Baba's pantry, also both located inside the Forks market, each provide unique takes on prairie cooking.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from all of us in the Tall Grass community! 🤍

The weeks around Thanksgiving are very busy for us but also very joyful!
From processing pumpkins to baking and packing hundreds of pies across three locations, it's a season of constant motion and teamwork which we enjoy greatly.
Thanks to everyone for visiting us in Wolseley, at the Forks, and sur la Seine during this time 🤍

We are closed Sunday and Monday in Wolseley and sur la Seine but will be open every day in the Forks market, 7-7, with many pies, breads, and all the treats! 🍂💕

Thanksgiving week is upon us and we wanted to give you the scoop on how to get some Tall Grass pies for your gatherings!

The following pies are available all week and weekend in the Forks market and in St. Boniface, sur la Seine:
Apple
Saskatoon-rhubarb
Prairie fruit (strawberry, saskatoon, & rhubarb)
Pumpkin
Pecan
Pecan-cranberry

In Wolseley, the following pies are available after 3pm, Oct. 7 until Saturday, Oct.10:
Apple
Prairie fruit (apple, saskatoon, & rhubarb)
Pumpkin
Pecan
Pecan-cranberry

We recommend giving us a ring & ordering ahead but we'll be sure to have some pies and other autumnal treats available if you stop by on a whim!

Please note that our Wolseley and sur la Seine sites will be closed Sunday and Monday but we'll be open in the Forks market every day including Thanksgiving Monday.

This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to educate ourselves about the history of residential schools and to reflect on how we can all participate in the ongoing processes of reconciliation.

There are many meaningful and commemorative community-organized events taking place on the Forks grounds and at other downtown locations today.

It's harvest time in Manitoba and we're turning our focus to seasonal delights like local apples, corn on the cob, and pumpkins, of course!
We'll post more info on ordering pies for Thanksgiving by next week but for now, we are getting into the autumnal spirit with Fall features like squash soup, pumpkin pound cakes, and vegan pumpkin cookies, just to name a few!
For next week, pumpkin pies will be available at the Forks and sur la Seine by the weekend and in Wolseley by Thursday.

We hope everyone is enjoying this beautifully warm and rainy September weekend!
If you haven't had the chance to visit our sweet little patio at sur la Seine, we hope you stop by to check it out in these final weeks of summer. We have a few tables nestled in the clearing by the trees. It's a perfect spot to meet up with friends, grab a bite, or just to take a quiet moment outside.

It's Folk Fest week in Winnipeg!

The streets in the city are a wee bit emptier this week as many of us head out to Birds Hill park to enjoy a week of sunshine, music, and good vibes for our Folk Fest's 51st year! 🎉
While waiting in line, you just might run into friends and co-workers who need a folk fest cookie!

Every year, we happily bake many many treats at all three of our bakeries over the course of the week for La Cuisine, the food service powered by and for volunteers backstage.
We want to shout out all those working hard to help this awesome festival run year after year!

If you're opting not to camp this year and are just heading out for a day, we recommend stopping by one of our bakeries for some provisions😊🌾

We just wanted to say hello from our St. Boniface location!
We have many lovely offerings at our cozy cafe/bakery including good bread, cinnamon buns, local lettuce for sale and so much more!
Next time you're in the area, we hope you'll stop by and visit us at 390 Provencher (all the way in the back by the trees!) to grab a loaf or a sweet treat, enjoy a bowl of soup, peruse our canning shelves and pantry items, or just to say hi!

Happy Pride month, everyone!

In the spirit of Pride, we adorn our lemon cookies in coloured sugar to make our cheerful rainbow cookie packs!
Our Pride cookies are now available in Wolseley, at the Forks, and sur la Seine.

We hope you're able to explore some of the exciting community-organized events happening around the Forks and downtown this weekend celebrating the 2SLGBTQI+ community and allies 🏳️‍🌈

These events include various performances on the Mamawi and CN stages on the Forks grounds as well as Sunday's parade, of course!
