Today is my son’s 3rd birthday. Time flies! I made him an excavator cake! This one was so much fun to make but also frustrating. The bucket arm and I had a few small arguments, lol. In the end I’m very proud with how it came out.

My brother asks for the weirdest cakes for his birthday every year. I try my best and sometimes they work out and sometimes they don’t. This year was nothing new, lol. He asked for a Norse pentacle with salted dark chocolate espresso cake.
Everything was free handed and it’s all buttercream. My design came out ok but the cake was delicious!

I finished this blanket awhile ago and I’m now just getting around to taking pictures of it. To be honest I hated the colours on this variegated yarn. I was gifted this kit and I needed a project that was one that I could memorize and just plunk away at. This was perfect minus the colours. That being said seeing photos of it and it laying flat, I don’t mind them. I did run out of the yarn near the end but was able to find a similar colour to finish it off with.

I usually show progress photos of the baby blankets I do, but I wanted this one to be a surprise. I haven’t got to meet this little guy yet because of COVID-19 but I finally had the chance to go out for a late lunch with his Mom and a few other friends. So nice to get out with some friends after not seeing anyone for months.
